Re: Kell Brook SPLITS WITH trainer Dominic Ingle
I used to like Dom but I remember in Boxing Monthly last month or the month before a few guys in the boxing business were questioned on Canelo's failed test and guys like Macklin, Murray and maybe Beefy were questioned and were all highly scathing of Canelo's lenient ban, Dom on the other hand was sticking up for him, " he's served his time" and "clenbuterol doesn't give you an advantage" etc and I remember thinking at the time his attitude to PEDs is shocking. low and behold Saunders then fails a test about a month later
There's something about that gym I just don't like, if the head trainer is so dismissive about PEDs then that's a bad thing and maybe the BBBC need to have a word with Ingle just to remind him of the dangers

Brook's a regular on twitter. He could easily put and end to these rumours but hasn't.
FW said he couldn't work with his old man. Wonder if he's been interfering again and thinks he can save some pennies on his last pay-day?

Re: Kell Brook SPLITS WITH trainer Dominic Ingle

"I'm Kell Brook's new trainer? News to me", says John Fewkes
The 33-year-old former welterweight's name was speculated a replacement for Dom Ingle - the regular trainer of Brook.
Ingle, himself, has denied any knowledge of parting company with Brook, who is training in Fuerteventura. And Fewkes was quick to add his denials of any new "partnrship" this afternoon.
"I am not going to be training Kell Brook" he told The Star.
"It's all over twitter, and it's flattering, but it's not true. He's got a great team behind him, hans't he?
"I have spoken to Kell on the odd occasion, but that's not unusual, but there has been nothing along the lines of me training him.
"I have always offered my help, I know him and I like him. I've said he can pop up at my gym, any time.
"We talked before he boxed Errol Spence Jr and asked me what I thought - but that's just the sort of conversation we'd have.
"I am not going to Fuerteventura - in fact I'm on my way to ASDA now to get a chicken for Sunday dinner. I wouldn't be doing that, if I was going to Fuerteventura! I am not lying!"

I too wondered if this Brook situation might be decongestant-related.

Is there a suggestion that these two things are connected ?Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑19 Oct 2018, 14:38
WBN understands the split happened earlier this week, just a short time after Billy Joe Saunders was stripped of his WBO middleweight title for failing a drugs test.

As I said in another thread, I always thought that Dom had a very natural looking physique for a man of his age.handsofstone wrote: ↑20 Oct 2018, 05:19 I used to like Dom but I remember in Boxing Monthly last month or the month before a few guys in the boxing business were questioned on Canelo's failed test and guys like Macklin, Murray and maybe Beefy were questioned and were all highly scathing of Canelo's lenient ban, Dom on the other hand was sticking up for him, " he's served his time" and "clenbuterol doesn't give you an advantage" etc and I remember thinking at the time his attitude to PEDs is shocking. low and behold Saunders then fails a test about a month later

Don’t know. Dom has not denied or confirmed anything. Fewkes has said he has no idea what’s going on. Brook who is usually quite active on Twitter hasn’t said anything yet.martinmrts wrote: ↑20 Oct 2018, 12:49Is there a suggestion that these two things are connected ?Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑19 Oct 2018, 14:38

All about the money. Probably wants Ingle to take a pay cut or Fewkes will train him for 200 quid a week......

Re: Kell Brook SPLITS WITH trainer Dominic Ingle
It usually is a money thing. Brook been around the block and can't really teach him new things. Let's say he earns 7 million against Khan. I doubt he wants to give 700k of his purse when you are not learning anything. when he can do a deal with a novice trainer and pay him low 5 figures instead. Money saved some of it can go towards decent sparring partners. camp (still loads left over to invest after boxing)

10% to the trainer is standard issue when nobody is really making any money, Brook won’t be paying that.Glass Joe wrote: ↑20 Oct 2018, 14:47 It usually is a money thing. I don't really know what fighters pay to trainers once they start earning life-changing money. I guess it's negotiated depending on who the trainer is.

Re: Kell Brook SPLITS WITH trainer Dominic Ingle
Bingo. Ingle is very much in demand. If Brook doesn't want to pay him, plenty of others do.Switch hitter wrote: ↑20 Oct 2018, 13:03 All about the money. Probably wants Ingle to take a pay cut or Fewkes will train him for 200 quid a week......

Think this is true....... shame really. Need somebody with experience and who will take no nonsense.... not a fella who also likes a drink and who couldn't make weight.

"And The Star had heard rumours that representatives of the fighter had been making inquiries about being coached by other trainers."
A relative trying to save a couple of quid?
