its heavy weight any one gets a bang on the chin will go. tyson has shown he will get back up love him or hate him
Not always, some get hit with cracking punches and then get up,i could name dozens that climbed up from what looked like a ko punch
true enough mate , but there aint any one who can take a big shot in the heaveyweight in this era, cant really think , ortiz hurt wilder took him a few rounds to sober up
Joshua got up from Wlad

I don't recall Fury being caught with a really big shot clean,so it's difficult to say if he'd get back up if Wilder catches him good,i just don't see Wilder landing.

...won't be stuck out in the open, waiting to get hit flush.

... is plenty good to take anything wilder brings, cause fury can see them coming for a mile, slip, roll & ride those roundhouse swings if one really should glance by his guard.

Again, i can't see wilder troubling fury, he will play with him. Stronger, longer reach, faster & more mobile on his feet, the much better boxer technically.

The judges & the ref fury has to consider more dangerous in this fight than the actual opponent

The shot Fury took from Cunnigham was pretty much spot on. Peach of a punch. I think many would have stayed on the floor. Woke Fury up n that fight. He stopped clowning and wen't straight to business after that one. I think Fury took him bit too lightly at the beginning.

I don't think anyone's chin can take what Wilder is capable of throwing. It all comes down to if he lands. Is he better at throwing the shots than Wlad? I think not... So the best version of Fury should be able to do it... The question is how much of the old Fury came back from the land of coke and buffet tables? 80%??? Or less?

I think he would need to be 100% to win this one

I also have to add that if the fight goes by the way that Wlad vs Fury went then Fury will not win it on points

His height and reach are going to be enough of a deterrent.
Yeah to be fair Cunningham had an awesome reach advantage

He's shown he'll get up from shots from a cruiserweight. He has not shown he can get up from a shot from a powerful
(maybe the most powerful) heavyweight.
Getting up from a shot from Cunningham and getting up from a shot from Wilder are 2 separate things.
but heavyweights dont get back up much and if they do they get wiped out usually .the way i see it is ,he can not be taged by a shot or its game over

Fury's chin is a bit dodgy if you ask me.
Not only was he dropped flat on his back by a cruiserweight with mediocre power ( at best ) but also by the unknown Canadian champion in round two of their bout.
When Wilder catches him it'll either be over then & there or it will be the first of many knockdowns until the referee rescues him from further punishment.

Fury keeps that left hand down low. He is just begging for a right. Which so happens to be Wilders best shot

Fury may smother hold on grab and try to drain the energy of Wilder.

thanks for the clip. had not seen that.

fury has great skills for a huge man, but is not really that fast. certainly you can see wilder's right hand landing hard at some point.
and yet we've seen wilder be outboxed for numerous rounds by lesser men.
a super focussed fury could do it. he has more skills and versatility up his sleeve.

His head movement, etc deflects the majority of the power from opponent's punches. His chin is not as soft or weak as people think--- nobody takes a "4 count" and then comes back to knockout their opponent--- nobody takes a flush shot from Klitschko and says, "Come at me!", never being swayed from his goal--- the fact of the matter is this (too) Wilder hasn't really taken any serious punishment in his career, except in his 40th fight with Luis Ortiz--- he's been wobbled before by lesser men, and one must wonder what a genuinely skilled 260'ish pound man can do to him. Fury, when he sits down on his punches, can hurt anyone. He seldom ever does it, but he can do it.

Evidence that Fury 'can hurt anyone'?? Don't see that AT ALL.
For a 6'9" super heavy his power is poor.

fury throws flicking arm punches mainly and does a lot of punching while moving. it works for his style but its pretty much the exact technique you dont want for generating power

Good one :TU:
I forgot about that, it was Pajkic who put him down in the second. Fury seemed pissed off at himself, really came out guns blazing and knocked Pajkic down twice in the 3rd to end it.

Molina, Duhaupas, Szpilka, Ortiz all went long with Wilder. It’s not unreasonable to think Fury can last the distance by staying out of range for just a couple of rounds more than they did.

Yep. But Washington to me, asked the most questions. A good jab and movement gave Wilder issues. Sure he got knocked out as soon as he stepped off the gas, to be given trouble by such a low level guy is convincing that Fury has way more than Washington- Fury can go 12 on the gas dictating the pace, he has been at altitide camping at Big Bear so he should be fit. Who knows.

A 6'9" heavy CAN hurt anyone.
Of course, but the post suggested there was a likelihood of that happening. I don't see Fury hurting any world level hw without being vulnerable himself. I may be wrong, but his rating is mainly based imo on one ridiculously gunshy Klitschko performance.

I'm expecting Fury to walk the first five / six rounds but unless he gets to pre Wlad fitness he's going to get stiffened late on. Even that night against Klitschko he was slowing heavily late on. Against Wilder that would have been fatal.

Fury fully understands his need for 12 rounds of fitness if he's to come out on top. Wilder has great stamina and will remain dangerous from the start to end as Klitschko did.

I still believe Klitschko was not himself on that night (for whatever reasons), but Wilder is always a killer inside that ring. Once hurt the opponent has no escape.

No amount of mind games will make up for lack of fight fitness for Fury - and he knows it.
Fury's fans will be hoping he can put in an Ali like performance for an easy night.

The rest of us will be hoping he doesn't.

Fury has guts he'll get up once or twice before he gets face planted. They'll be showing the highlight reel of this ko for a long time. The portion of this forum that thinks fury is a heavyweight Whitaker are in for a rude awakening. Fury's only chance is by ko himself or crowding and smothering wilder to an ugly dec. He can't outbox him for 36 minutes.
