Ted Cheeseman v Asinia Byfield
Re: Ted Cheeseman v Asinia Byfield
Cheeseman will be in some good fights that's for sure.
Him vs Eggington would be a war.
Coldwell was talking about Fowler and Fitzgerald after his last fight, which is a bit of a joke as he is miles ahead of those two right now.

Re: Ted Cheeseman v Asinia Byfield
If Cheeseman turns up looking for big bombs from the off - as he often does, he'll come a cropper with Byfield. He can box very well off the back foot.
That said, if Ted is patient & boxes rather than bombs, he should have him out of there around 9-10...
As for fowler / fitzgerald....
Scott looks the pick of the bunch with real power, fowler cuts too easy for the style of fight he likes to be in. Him vs Cheeseman be a blood bath.

Cheesman is becoming one of my favourite British prospects along with Ritson.
He isn't a gobshite, he seems to have a good attitude and is being matched very well.

Re: Ted Cheeseman v Asinia Byfield
wouldnt mind seeing ted cheeseman fight steve butler for an international opponent, butlers the same age and just stopped carson jones in 7
Re: Ted Cheeseman v Asinia Byfield
Ha! That's just what I was thinking this morning. The other thing is Ted fought Jones a lot earlier in his career, Butler did it 25 fights in.
I would like to see Ted go on the road, and Butler in Canada would be a perfect introduction.

They should whack this fight on the Cordina vs Dodd card because it’ll be shite otherwise.

didn't Byfield batter some big ticket seller not long back?
Re: Ted Cheeseman v Asinia Byfield
Yeah Sam McNess he had the West Ham fans backing him. Pictures with Mark Noble as well.
Kicked off big time when Byfield beat him.

Re: Ted Cheeseman v Asinia Byfield
That`s it. I recall he gave McNess a real shellacking and the ref should have stopped it way before he did. Yet another example of a ref letting the "home" fighter take far more punishment than he would have let Byfield take.
Re: Ted Cheeseman v Asinia Byfield
Just an update Cheese fans
Looks like the vacant British title will be on the line for this fight. Great news!
And Jordan Gill to challenge Ryan Doyle for his Commonwealth featherweight title on the bill and Ryan Walsh will face Isaac Lowe in a rematch is scheduled for the undercard so far.
Sweet!

Choking for this fight think its gonna be a cracker, Cheeseman always gives good value, destroyed Upton last time out and beat a tough Carson Jones widely on the cards, that was still a hard night for Cheeseman he had to work for that win but he fought at a good pace and fought fire with fire, great learning fight and showed Cheeseman has the minerals
Still not sure with Byfield yet, looked great against McNess who was a solid unbeaten prospect , the win over Ochieng is a good win too, tough one this but I think Cheeseman will be too relentless, Byfield will have his moments early on but I think down the nitty gritty, Cheeseman will surge down the stretch, could stop him, he's non stop aggression

Ted gets better (defensively) each time out. He has had plenty of time to prepare for this one and there is decent footage about of Byfield, so he can study him.

Aye Cheeseman has a style which doesn't bode well for the top level let alone longevity but I cant see him getting found out at this level, although its hard to say how good Byfield actually is, he hasn't looked badKiwiRider wrote: ↑23 Oct 2018, 14:44Me too!handsofstone wrote: ↑23 Oct 2018, 14:37 Choking for this fight think its gonna be a cracker, Cheeseman always gives good value, destroyed Upton last time out and beat a tough Carson Jones widely on the cards, that was still a hard night for Cheeseman he had to work for that win but he fought at a good pace and fought fire with fire, great learning fight and showed Cheeseman has the minerals

Re: Ted Cheeseman v Asinia Byfield
I have noticed Ted showing a bit more head movement, and he does step back occasionally to duck a few shots. Sure most of it is done out of range, but someone is teaching him and he is only young. I think last time out he had (undersatandably) no respect for Upton's power and took a few more than he needed to. All in all though, you can see some gradual defensive improvememt.handsofstone wrote: ↑23 Oct 2018, 14:55

Even if he only turns out to be a domestic level guy, I'll watch him

I swear Asinia has got ADHD or something but he's a cool guy and a funny pudendum. Sorry to all the Cheeseman fans but Asinia's got this, Cheeseman hasn't fought anyone as elusive as DGhost and I do rate Ted but styles make fights and Asinia is wrong for him. Cant wait for this.
Re: Ted Cheeseman v Asinia Byfield
I'm flying to London for work tomorrow so tempted to go to this. Having read a couple of interviews with Cheeseman I can't help but warm to him, but is it just me who can envisage this potentially playing out like the Matthew Hall vs Anthony Small fight?

Ted is the real deal he is going All The Way!!
Re: Ted Cheeseman v Asinia Byfield
Only really watched Byfield properly against McNess. Unorthodox style, switching stances, hands low. Could cause a few problems early but Cheeseman is levels above McNess and showed a very good engine against Carson Jones so I don't expect him to wilt if he doesn't have early success like McNess did. Think Cheeseman's more sound fundamentals will allow him take over for the win on the cards or by late stoppage.

Some fight this. Think the styles will gel well. If Byfield can get Cheeseman to respect his power it could be Byfields fight. If not Cheeseman will out work him and win wide on the cards.

Not this weekend! The Cheese train is gonna take a little detour on its way to world domination. Ted will learn from it and come back stronger though.Londonirish wrote: ↑24 Oct 2018, 10:30Larrylefthook wrote: ↑23 Oct 2018, 20:27 I swear Asinia has got ADHD or something but he's a cool guy and a funny pudendum.
