Re: Kubrat Pulev vs. Hughie Fury - 27 October 2018
I can see Fury outboxing Pulev but getting stiffed on the cards by being too negative, I thought he deserved to beat Parker although he probably deserved to lose as well for not standing his ground more, he did box on the backfoot against Sexton to begin with but stood his ground and got the KO not long after, I think he'll need to fight similar here, fighting on the backfoot for 12 rounds wont cut it over in Bulgaria
I haven't seen Pulev since he dominated Chisora, considering Del Boy has had a couple of good wins that night it looks a good win, just seen Pulev is coming off a couple of wins over Samuel Peter and Kevin Johnson, seems his team are more interested in fighting names than testing themselves lately
I think this goes 12 and I think Fury can outbox Pulev but he cant make the same mistakes as he did in the Parker fight, he needs to show a bit more belief in his punching power and eventually start to plant his feet and try to take Pulev apart, its gonna be hard to get a decision over there, Peter will know that, they have to show lessons have been learned
Pulev by gift

I hope Pulev beats the drugs cheat.
One day someone is going to die in the ring and the the boxer who beat him is going to fail a piss test.
When that happens, boxing will be finished.

Na, I agree. There are some situations where some boxers are genuine.
Bellew will always support his fellow Brits, he states Whyte and Saunders are innocent but claims Ortiz and Povetkin are drug cheats. Ortiz's most recent failed test I believe was genuine and the WBC looked into that. Also with their random testing, it helps.

Anyone know how severe Pulevs shoulder injury was ? If theres a chance of a midrounds pull out then Fury at 5-1 for the stoppage looks tempting.

There are always going to be boxers who have taken something by mistake,or it's in medication that is prescribed by a doctor,i think it's wrong to label everyone who tests positive as a dirty ,filthy cheat who should be banned for life.

Peter Fury Says Hughie Took Very Serious Approach For Pulev
Peter Fury has credited Hughie’s no-nonsense approach to boxing as his son prepares to take on Kubrat Pulev in Saturday’s IBF world heavyweight title eliminator.
While many boxers focus on making as much noise as possible in the media, Peter has championed Hughie’s respectful nature in shunning the limelight to focus solely on honing his craft.
Peter said: “I’d rather Hughie make his mark for what he does rather than do all this talking up and down. You’ve just got to be yourself.
“I’m not saying it’s wrong for people to do the talking. It’s up to them what they do but Hughie isn’t that character so for him to try and do all that, it’d be false. He’s just serious about his business.
“When the bell goes, it’s one against one and at the end of the fight, there’s always respect for the opponent. That’s just the way it is – this is boxing.
“He’s done it the old school way. That’s the thing. We’re looking forward to this fight and he couldn’t have got there any better or faster. He already fought for a world title, then won the British and now he’s back up there fighting for the mandatory position again.
“Hughie has been guided very, very well and we’re more than happy. He’s past what’s happened and everything happens for a reason in life.”

Hughie taking apart Sam sexton downstairs really have much bearing on this. Pulev is a lot better than sexton as is fury.bigjack wrote: ↑24 Oct 2018, 12:36Inactivity,age and the injury going in against a very gifted 24 year old who's last outing was his best performance all point towards a hard night for Pulev,i'd not be surprised if he got stopped late on.

But it's simple. There's a git big list of things you can't take. When you go to the doctors office or the pharmacy, you take the list with you. Just because a boxer says he/she took the chemical by accident, doesn't mean they did. HOW many people who fail a test admit it?

Dillian-Browne was proudly promoted by Hearn. Both cheats.
Re: Kubrat Pulev vs. Hughie Fury - 27 October 2018
Fans/promoters/managers/fighters only moan about peds when it suits there agenda
It is very wrong but it's also rife in boxing
Drug use in boxing has bin about for years , doesn't make it right , but canelo getting a pass and still being odlhs golden boy is proof that if your a big star who can draw a big gate and do big numbers on Ppv, you get a pass
Just the way it is

Re: Kubrat Pulev vs. Hughie Fury - 27 October 2018
And?
Both are drugs cheats and some people would rather see drugs cheats get a lifetime ban not a ban that's worth shite.
Hughie got caught and accepted a backdated ban.
Personally he has done his ban, providing all his wee tests clean now then he's ok.
I'd personally like to see uniformity across the board. So if you get caught, you get an instant 2yr ban regardless of who's rules you're under.
Re: Kubrat Pulev vs. Hughie Fury - 27 October 2018
Even bellew in interview the other day when ast about bills failed drug test , he wouldlnt comment , and said bills always bin clean and bin in favour of a clean sport
Usually bellews scathing about drugs cheats
People only complain when it suits them , boxings full of skullduggery

No, not all of them, but aside from marijuana, the most common drug test failures are for chemicals that will improve your performance.bigjack wrote: ↑24 Oct 2018, 14:54But do all the banned substances offer some kind of performance enhancer though ? i don't know, just asking the questionkeithmoonhangover wrote: ↑24 Oct 2018, 14:31But it's simple.
