Sunny Edwards vs Ryan Farrag

Post by handsofstone »

This friday on allegedly, Edwards defends his WBO European Super Flyweight belt against former European Bantamweight champ Farrag who's moved down a division after losing a British title fight to Burnett, both of these guys have been at it for weeks on twitter, getting a bit personal so hopefully the needle makes for a great scrap, ive only seen Edwards once or twice on undercards, he's looked good from memory similar to big brother Charlie

Farrag's a big step up though, he's had 3 wins on the spin since the Burnett loss, Farrag was well beat that night but lost to a very good fighter, I think both styles should gel here, Farrag loves a scrap and I imagine he'll try drag Edwards into a dogfight, if he does then I favour him but if the younger fresher Edwards can stay composed and stick to the boxing I think he'll take it on points,

I'll go with Edwards to win a cracker

Edwards for me aswell.
I like Sunny. He’s a right wind-up merchant and I think he’s proper got under Farrag’s skin in the build up to this.

Well that was an absolute schooling for Farrag in there tonight, apart from the occasional sneaky right hand he never had a sniff, I was well impressed with Edwards he looks like he can be a force, he has a bit of everything, quick, slick, defensively looks elusive, showed excellent footwork, side to side constantly changing direction, switched stances effectively and without me even noticing at times, he picked his shots superbly even from as early as the 1st, he had no issues landing clean

Farrag just never had an answer for anything Edwards asked of him, speed kills as they say and Edwards speed along with his footwork gave Farrag kittens all night, jabbing and crosses from both stances were first class, I thought Edwards impressed more against Farrag than Burnett did and Burnett dominated Farrag himself so top notch from Edwards, he doesn't look a big puncher but he'll get a few stoppages along the way with his accuracy and sheer volume, he looks a far better boxer than big brother Charlie

Looking forward to seeing him again , he's def got something about him

Be interesting to see where Edwards goes next. Fair play to Farrag he kept trying but was levels below. Edwards footwork is a joy to watch
