Lakefront Arena, New Orleans - WBC interim-junior welterweight champion Regis Prograis (23-0, 19 KOs) dominated the majority of the action to win a solid twelve round unanimous decision over Terry Flanagan (33-2, 13 KOs).

The scores were 119-108, 118-109 and 117-110.
With the victory, Prograis advances in the World Boxing Super Series tournament, and faces WBA champion Kiryl Relikh in the semi-finals.

The action was very competitive, as Flanagan held his ground with a calculated boxing match. Prograis had the slight advantage in the early going with his mix of punching and defense.

Prograis was being more active with his punch output in the third and applying more pressure on Flanagan. Outside of his jab, Flanagan was not having very much success with anything else - while Prograis was throwing and landing the harder punches.

Flanagan had few answers as they entered the second half. Prograis was outlanding him and outworking him. In the eight, Prograis dropped Flanagan with a hard hook. He beat the count and Prograis was battering him while looking for the finish. A cut opened up around the left eye of Flanagan. Prograis continued to unload with punches as Flanagan was wobbling around the ring - but trying to fight back and managed to survive.

After taking more shots in the ninth and tenth, Flanagan actually put together some solid offense in the eleventh as he continued to show his heart against Prograis. Flanagan was stunned with some more hard shots in the final two rounds, but managed to last until the final bell.

A good fight. It was a one-sided affair, but still a big pleasure to watch because of the fact, it was a master-class by Prograis. A really tough night for Flanagan. I actually picked Prograis to knock him out and Regis was so close to that. In the 8th Prograis caught him well and developed the success with a hard battering. Terry showed an enormous heart, he nearly fell for the second time, was saved by the ropes, but he bravely took all the bombs and survived. It was hard to give any round for Flanagan, Prograis was excellent with an elusive head and body movement, a collected fighting approach.

:TU: myself and another poster, I think maybe Leprechaun, have said before that Regis's defence, especially movement from the waist, make him very good defensively for someone so aggressive

Prog should win the tourney.

He’ll definately beat Taylor/Martin IMO.

Taylor and Martin are at the same level.

what makes you say taylor and martin are the same level? martin had enough trouble with francisco rojo, who i would not rate as being close to taylor. and despite having more fights then taylor he in reality has much less meaingful pro experience, having fought mainly cans and never having a 12 round fight

we will see i guess. i would have prograis as my fav though too

You'd have to make Prograis favourite as things stand but we'll not find out until next week if Taylor and Martin are at the same level. Obviously you're only as good as your last fight but after his semi gut check against Postol I expect Taylor to improve again. That was a great learning fight at the right time for Josh and it could take him up a level. From what I've seen of Martin he will be tricky though, especially early on if Josh is over eager to impress as he tends to be.... Can't wait!

I agreed with the 119-108 card, Prograis simply outboxed Flanagan for pretty much the whole fight, I did have Flanagan nicking the 1st but after that Prograis jabbed his head off, wasn't a great fight, I did say beforehand Flanagan was gonna have to take some chances and let his hands go but he never tried to change things up when falling behind, just kept staying in range not letting his hands go and being outjabbed

Prograis scored a lovely KD in the 8th, caught Flanagan with a cracking left hand over the top, I actually thought Flanagan scored his best punches right after getting decked, he caught Prograis with a couple of big lefts while Prograis was going for the kill, Prograis did hurt Flanagan again before the round was out

I thought the KD might've woke Flanagan up but he slipped back into his shell, upped things a little in the last couple but all in all it looked an easy nights work for Prograis who showed us something a little different than before

We were all at that coloursfest dance thing years back man. We had a gaff to filter back to afterwards. We all left at different times and went to this flat in Paisley. We all spilled our Ching out on the worktop in the kitchen and there ended up a healthy pile! My other mate (who's fairly affluent and successful now) comes in and empties a big bag of ket in amongst the gear! Everyone was raging  We obviously ended up getting in to it and every cùnt ended up in a monumental state  I took it once more after that and it was even worse!

I can't understand how some folk take that shít in the dancing!

In this days of multiple sports channels and PPV outlets, when was the last time a British fighter challenged for a world title and it was not available on a TV format, whether it be Sky, BT, ITV, Boxination, PPV.

It's the best fight in boxing for me. I don't think Prograis has any kind of bottle or quit in him. In fact I think it's quite the opposite. He will be the one going out of his way looking for the action. Taylor will be the one trying to outbox him and outpunch him too I suppose. I think you have to favour Reggie Prograis as he seems like the tougher and harder hitter of the two but as I said, its the best fight in boxing right now and Taylor could do it.
