I have tickets for this. I might need to watch all my kids (5kids) this night. If I do then I'll give my tickets away if anyone wants?

Just been watching a bit of Martin, he looks an excellent fighter, tall, fast sharp hitting very confident, been boxing since he’s 8, rated highly by the Americans, trains alongside GGG with Abel Sanchez.
He’s obviously seen as a real comer in the US, this could be a dangerous fight for Josh.

i only saw him vs rojo and he didnt look good at all, but its a dangerou practice to right someone off based on one unimpressive showing....so many good fighters have had them even vs not great opp

I just watched a few rounds of him v Yardley Cruz - not the toughest matchup, but he looks like he has something about him. Safe to
say he’s about to get a baptism of fire up in Glasgow, so we’ll soon know.

Was surprised to hear, as an up and comer, he was compared to a young Terence Crawford by some...and that was before he also beat Breidiss Prescott and headed off to take on the local hero in Scotland.

prescott is a journeyman these days, starting to get stopped more too, 1-7 in his last 8 with 3 stoppage losses, and the single guy he beat was 8-31

From what I've seen of Martin he's no slouch but I think Taylor has the beating of him :bag:

Interesting fight

Zach Parker (16-0, 11 KOs) vs Darryll Williams (17-0, 7 KOs) for the vacant British Super Middleweight title on the undercard. Hasn't been contested for over a year since Fielding stopped Brophy in a round.

I think he's going to give Josh Taylor a tough fight.. If it's close, Taylor might get the win on points. However, we saw Patera take a well deserved decision against Ritson in Newcastle this month. Who knows.

Just caught up on some of Martins fights he looks a very good fighter. I would of thought being a Sanchez fighter and around GGG he would be a lot better at pressuring fighters with his footwork. He needs to cut the ring off not follow the opponent round the ring, can't let fighters like Taylor off like that

When Reggie was talking about meeting Ivan Brananchyk in the final, I was surprised. I've not seen anything of Ivan until this weekend. I was impressed.
This fight with Martin will likely go Taylor's way, it's the next one with Brananchyk that could be a concern.

I seen Martin last year, might have been the Prescott win and I do remember being impressed, Taylor's a big step up though, he's been matched as good as anyone in the country bar Joshua maybe, the Postol fight was close and he had to dig deep in there and ride a few storms, great learning fight and one which should help him come through here, Martin is a pretty quick boxer if I remember right so should pose different problems than Postol did

Taylor's no slouch himself though and his timing is exceptional, he might have a couple of quiet rounds early on but after that I see him surging ahead breaking Martin down, the crowd will be nothing like Martin's faced and if he freezes it could be an early night but I reckon Taylor stops him late

A lot of fighter have poor fights at the start of their careers. Some step up and they flop and then there’s some that just smash it. Not saying Martin will smash Taylor. But he should be able to give it a good going.

I hear some say Taylor can knock him out. Does he possess that power? Maybe Martin might be vulnerable in the body or chin area? Who knows.

Too easy to hit. He does seem to have a bit of power, and a good team behind him, but no way has he fought at the level of Taylor's last 4 fights- let alone Postol, who taught Josh a lot about boxing and himself.
