Joe Joyce vs. Joe Hanks - 1 December 2018
BoxRec reports that Jarrett Hurd and Joe Joyce have opponents for their December 1st appearances on the Deontay Wilder-Tyson Fury undercard.
Isaac Lowe and Chris Arreola will box on the off TV card. Also - a "retired" boxer could be returning on this card, but I want to get confirmation first
Joe Hanks (23-2, 15 KO), whom BoxRec has ranked 119th among heavyweights, is 2-0 since a three-year layoff following consecutive losses to Andy Ruiz Jr. and Derric Rossy. He is one of only three people Rossy has beaten in his last 10 fights.

I do believe Washington would have been a much better test and best opponent to date.
He needs to really step it up if he's ging to be challenging for a world title by this time next year.

Who the hell is going to vote for Hanks??Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑30 Oct 2018, 16:43It’s a fight. Polls are just there so we can see what everyone thinks.

Exactly. Polls make sense when there's at least a sense of the fight being competitive. For something like this it's an utterly pointless exercise.

Don’t be surprised when you see a vote for Hanks. Not saying I will. But you’ll be surprised.

Don't know if that's his fault though tbh. I think he wants to face better opposition but it must be hard to get these guys in the ring from a promotional perspective.tiny_acres wrote: ↑30 Oct 2018, 18:46Exactly.. Joyce is talking about facing all of these contenders and we are stuck with this.

In all seriousness , what the fugg is this all about ?
I like Joyce but this is doing him no favours at all , a bit more American exposure but that's where it ends .

I can't believe it either. But I'd laugh if it happens

Aye true mate but I think his handlers are struggling to match him. They want big names but can't seem to entice them in to a fight. Wouldn't mind seeing him in with Dubois or Gorman.

Joyce is now rated #10 by the WBA anyone in the top 25 should want to raise their rating by attempting to beat him.Stuarty wrote: ↑30 Oct 2018, 19:31Don't know if that's his fault though tbh. That rating is bullshít but it's the WBA so... That's beside the point though. i don't know how much attention is paid to the governing bodies ratings nowadays tbh. The WBA are a fuckin riot!tiny_acres wrote: ↑30 Oct 2018, 20:59Joyce is now rated #10 by the WBA anyone in the top 25 should want to raise their rating by attempting to beat him.Stuarty wrote: ↑30 Oct 2018, 19:31Don't know if that's his fault though tbh. Joyce's team will have to shell out to get him better opponents. He's just starting out and the more established guys won't fancy taking him on unless they're weighed in financially. There's a few good domestic options but they fights will be just as hard to make!

I agree the WBA ratings are a joke. But none the less he is one of their contenders. And as old as he is he can't wait to make a move up the ratings.Stuarty wrote: ↑30 Oct 2018, 21:13That rating is bullshít but it's the WBA so... His ream needs to put out serious money.
Or he can struggle for 4 or 5 years and be darned near 40 before he's a mandatory
