The fact that he's losing to Pulev, who is pretty limited, tells you everything.
Let’s not make out Pulev is rubbish here - Wlad is the only guy to ever beat him professionally.
i agree, beat chisora far better then whyte did and beat hughie better then parker did. hes not elite with aj etc but still been around the top 10 now for like 6-7 years

Well the question was Hughie Fury's capacity at a higher level. And Pulev is a higher level but cannon fodder for the best, so in world terms that makes Fury third tier in my book. Nothing wrong with that, he has some skills but unless there is improvement that's his level.

Well, he hammered Chis, far better than Whyte did, so I guess Whyte is cannon fodder? And Parker? I actually agree, and only three heavyweights matter atm.

The obvious flaws are a lack of strength and power but also his timing is bad he just doesn't land his shots often he misses with his shots his jabs and straight right come up short constantly.

I agree at this time Hughie is 3rd rate on the world scene. Of course this is still a high level, like Euro standard or like Chisora standard.

Come on people, they have literally bought 21 wins.

His best win is the inactive Sam Sexton.

He is at best Britsh title level - I can only dream of being that level, but I am not going round with my dad telling everyone I am world level.

I just don't rate Pulev Mickey, and he's what 37 going on 45? I think Whyte would batter him. It's the lack of power that worries me the most about Hughie's long term potential.

Whyte, in Bulgaria, would lose a wide UD to Pulev. He’d have his head jabbed off. That’s why they backed out when losing the purse bids.

i think pulev is better then joe parker when it comes to actually winning fights. if it wasnt alarming that hughie lost to joe i dont think losing to pulev should be

Hughie will come again

Just needs to be half sensible in how he goes about working back to this level

ppl saying hughies no better then brit title level, but i think he has a euro title in him. a guy like pulev, even though not elite, will outbox pretty much anyone outside the top 10, prob a few inside that too

a guy like rudenko was prob fringe euro level and hughie beat him easy, much easier then lucas browne did when his career still had some momentum

he hasnt cut it at top 10 level, but id like to see him take on the ebu scene. guys like kabayel, wallin, dimitrenko, hammer, granat, helenius, etc

The positive he has for me is his age, but quite frankly he needs a new coach. I think Peter has been exposed (not that i rated him that high in the first place) with how poor Hughie fought. There was literally no adapting to what he had in front of him. If Hughie can't figure it out, then his coach should be.

Pulev is no wizard, he plodded forward all night.

I dunno, it was a poor show from the whole camp. I'm wondering if he really wants it, he doesn't like the build up to fights and looks pretty disinterested when he's in the ring.

That win over Sexton was expected, but you can't jump from Sexton to Pulev unless you have a bit about you, and he clearly is lacking in that department at the moment.

Don't get me wrong I do rate Hughie, but he needs to learn his trade, and drop down a level or two, and rebuild steadily. I'm not sure that is going to happen.

He might have his head lobbed off after the 20th headlock. We'll have to just disagree, Pulev in my book is and always has been a limited plodder. If he gets an AJ fight I wouldn't get up to get a beer out of the fridge or you might miss it.

pulevs a plodder, but his jab is quite good, at least by comparison to most of the other hws today

for me, he is probably about 7th or 8th in the division. i would pick whyte over him now but do believe hes better then parker. hes obviously nowhere near aj, wilder, or fury when fury is in any type of good form
