Re: Usyk bossed Wlad during sparring
You can look at this a few different ways.
1. It shows how past prime Wlad really was. And diminishes Fury and Joshaus wins over the well past it Wlad.
2. Usyk is 10 times tougher than Fury and Joshua combined that only 1 round made Wlad a bitch.
3. It didn't happen

Re: Usyk bossed Wlad during sparring
Heard about it a few years ago. Figured Usyk's movement, speed and ring IQ would've bothered Wlad quite a bit.
Re: Usyk bossed Wlad during sparring
A champion doesn’t give up after 1 round. Usyk doesn’t have mike Tyson power or ferocity for there to be a reason to stop after one round even if Wlad was being schooled somehow. Sounds like bs.

johnny nelson is a sky sports/matchroom slut, i dont trust his word at all
Re: Usyk bossed Wlad during sparring
These little articles are just not to be trusted. Fake or out of context news.
Re: Usyk bossed Wlad during sparring
Yeah, the quitting after one round reeks of sensational exaggeration, but the story is probably true in general terms. This was back when nobody cared about Usyk outside of Ukraine.

Re: Usyk bossed Wlad during sparring
Absolute rubbish and nonsense. Fairytales made up by couch potatoes. Nobody 6'3" and 200 pounds with a 78" reach with 15 pro fights is gonna do crap to the nearly 6'7" 245 pound ex-champion with an 81" reach who had 20+ title defenses--- besides its SPARRING--- and that means absolutely NOTHING.
Re: Usyk bossed Wlad during sparring
People put so much stock in sparring tales don’t they
Re: Usyk bossed Wlad during sparring
Usyk is the man at cruiser and has mostly looked the part but I still feel he's pretty underrated. The guy is absolute class.

Even more irrelevant when they're just inaccurate propaganda to sell a fight.
Re: Usyk bossed Wlad during sparring
I like how everyone is triggered. Usyk schools big guys regularly, and I could easily see it happening. Uysk is a more elusive, more well-rounded fighter than Fury. Klitschko looked lost against Fury, imagine against Usyk.

Connect the dots…
• Johnny Nelson is a long-time employee of Sky Sports
• Tony Bellew and Oleksandr Usyk are both promoted by Matchroom
• Eddie Hearn’s promotional company, Matchroom, has an exclusive deal with Sky Sports
• Tony Bellew and Oleksandr Usyk are fighting in ten days’ time, with the event being covered by Sky Sports
• Oleksandr Usyk and Wladimir Klitschko continue to spar with each other, despite the fact that ‘Dr Steelhammer’ is retired, which means the heavyweight (dead-cert first ballot) Hall-of-Famer couldn’t have been too traumatised by the events that occurred in 2015
• Johnny Nelson didn’t mention his account of Oleksandr Usyk’s sparring session with Wladimir Klitschko in 2015 until very recently
• Johnny Nelsons’ story about Usyk’s sparring session with Klitschko hasn’t been verified by any other members of the media who witnessed it
I’m not suggesting that Johnny Nelson is lying, but perhaps he’s embellishing his account of a "true" story to ensure that it garners attention from the media and help promote a boxing event being covered by his employer?
Am I being condescending, or have I simply explained the reason for my opinion? Who knows or even cares?

Re: Usyk bossed Wlad during sparring
as good a boxer as usyk is hes not doing one round quit jobs on guys, even for the greatest boxers that type of style takes more time to become demoralizing. usyk often starts slow too, id bet first round of him vs wlad would have very little

Re: Usyk bossed Wlad during sparring
I think Usyk is in friendly relations with Klitchkos, plus they own a company promoting Usyk. That may have just been a friendly sparring which wasn't supposed to last more than a round.

Don’t forget talksport is owned by sky too. Hence why it’s not completely shite.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑31 Oct 2018, 07:06 Connect the dots…

Re: Usyk bossed Wlad during sparring
Very obviously just an attempt to promote the Usyk vs Bellew fight.
The vast majority of Bellew's Sky Sports following are football (soccer) fans who have, at best, very limited knowledge of Usyk. It wouldn't surprise me at all if some of them are a bit confused by the Usyk fight, and see him as a step down from Haye. Stories such as this are intended to open their eyes and get them interested in the fight. That's all there is to it.
