Will Tony Bellew struggle with Usyk's pace ?

Post by Evander »

Do you think Tony Bellew can keep up with Usyk's boxing pace for 12 rounds ?

It's hardly like Usyk is a boxing enigma, yes he's in shape and capable physically of going the distance.
His style which can border on pitty pat scoring punches at times is effective but hardly intimidating as ferocious standards go.

Usyk will be favored because of his physical abilities and punch rate.
What if a little passion gets in there mid fight.

Who you picking ?

If I were Bellew I'd practice the long lunging regular jab throughout the fight, especially early.

Usyk is square position.
He doesn't move from the square and has little fluidity mid rally.

Usyk thinks he can jab from behind his casual defence and get away with it.
He looks flustered and unsettled when bunches of punches come through most of which miss.

This stage I side with Usyk on boxing ability, but can he do it for 12 rounds ?
Get the feeling Bellew will rely on those emotional moments that gets the crowd up and into it.
Bellew does have one or two solid avenues to go through.

What does Bellew bring to the party that can trouble Usyk? I'm not even sold on his power.

bellew will be counting on his power doing damage. i haven't seen enough of usyk but he is the best, so should be way too much for bomber.

I guess, Bellew will be able to survive. Usyk's pace will frustrate him for sure, but Usyk's punch isn't that hard apparently, so Bellew probably will have enough guts to stand for the final bell.
