That would be a good exciting fight for GGG. Brant is coming to fight and he has a busy style.

GGG may fight Robert Brant in the first quarter of next year
“We’ll fight in the first quarter of next year,” Sanchez said to Behind The Gloves. “The kid [Rob Brant] that just beat [Ryota] Murata. He’s got a title, and then at the end of next year, Tom [Loeffler] and Golden Boy can get together and then maybe they can do it a year later. Gennady has some fights out there. There’s four titles, but they [Canelo and Gennady] need each other for the public. The public is going to demand that kind of fight. We’ll see how Canelo does with the [Rocky] Fielding fight. If he does limited numbers, then it’s going to show you that he’s not the box office that they think he is,” Sanchez. from boxing news 24

This wouldn't be a good fight. Tom Loeffler is doing the same as Oscar De La Hoya. Both promoters have simply sought out the easiest available opposition that possesses a world title (of sorts).

I just want to say that based on facts that Brant is a more worthy opponent for GGG than Andrade and Jermall Charlo. Brant has a good win against Murata at mw. But if Charlo and Andrade would fight each other then we would have a new player in the mw division.

So you’re suggesting that it’s better for GGG to challenge for a meaningless WBA secondary title against a fighter that got dominated by the less-than-stellar talents of Juergen Braehmer, instead of challenging for a genuine version of a world championship held by young hungry lions like Daniel Jacobs and the undefeated Demetrius Andrade?apollo creed wrote: ↑02 Nov 2018, 12:30 I just want to say that based on facts that Brant is a more worthy opponent for GGG than Andrade and Jermall Charlo. I’d prefer to see Golovkin faces the likes of Canelo Alvarez, Callum Smith, Danny Jacobs, Demetrius Andrade, Jermall Charlo, Billy Joe Saunders and Sergiy Derevyanchenko, instead of the relatively unheralded Rob Brant, but perhaps I’m in the minority?

Re: GGG may fight Robert Brant in the first quarter of next year
Andrade and Charlo are still unproven at middleweight, but Andrade holds a legitimate version of the title, and Charlo did put together a solid body of work at 154.
I'd rather see GGG face one of those, giving him with the WBO belt, or a mandatory position for the WBC, rather than go for a 'regular' title, even though I agree Brant has the best win at 160 out of those three names.
A Jacobs rematch would be best though, or even the hinted at Callum Smith bout at 168 - although I fear that one is a bad matchup for GGG, with Smith's size and seeing the way he dismantled Groves. I don't see anybody below 175 beating Smith at the moment.

Re: GGG may fight Robert Brant in the first quarter of next year
GGG paid his dues. Don't worry. He's gonna fight top 160 pounders next year. The real question is: will Jermall do the same ?? And btw Brant's resume at mw is better than Mall's and Andrade's.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑02 Nov 2018, 12:42So you’re suggesting that it’s better for GGG to challenge for a meaningless WBA secondary title against a fighter that got dominated by the less-than-stellar talents of Juergen Braehmer, instead of challenging for a genuine version of a world championship held by young hungry lions like Daniel Jacobs and the undefeated Demetrius Andrade?apollo creed wrote: ↑02 Nov 2018, 12:30 I just want to say that based on facts that Brant is a more worthy opponent for GGG than Andrade and Jermall Charlo. I would definitely prefer GGG to fight Andrade and get a real title. Jacobs rematch is less exciting, but also better than Brant.

Imo Jermall and Andrade should test themselves against each other since both are unproven at mw. The winner should get the top dogs of mw division. This is the right way.boxing_rocks wrote: ↑02 Nov 2018, 15:13 I would definitely prefer GGG to fight Andrade and get a real title. Jacobs rematch is less exciting, but also better than Brant.

Andrade got a real belt, so he is an attractive target. Charlo should fight Derevo, Saunders or at least Lemieux to deserve a title shot in such a strong division.apollo creed wrote: ↑02 Nov 2018, 15:18Imo Jermall and Andrade should test themselves against each other since both are unproven at mw. Funny that both Canelo and GGG are going for the WBA ‘Regular’ belt.
Pacquiao recently won the ‘Regular’ belt too.
Hmm.. something fishy going on here.

Probably a more facile way to get to the full title.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑02 Nov 2018, 15:39 Funny that both Canelo and GGG are going for the WBA ‘Regular’ belt.

You guys are ridiculous! WTF makes Andrade's title "real"!? He did not beat Saunders for it and his best win is probably Willie Nelson years ago.
Brant is superior to Andrade, period!

I was referring to the fact it's one of the main 4 (WBC, WBA SUPER, IBF, WBO) not how he won it.
Brant's one big win is better than anything Andrade has done. I agree.
Re: GGG may fight Robert Brant in the first quarter of next year
A decent match, but similar to Canelo's next bout it seems to be an easy work for GGG. It'll be great, if those fights become kinda reposing before the bigger ones, particulary a potential Canelo-GGG III, which will have sense for sure.

If GGG will fight Brant and beat him then GGG will be Canelo's mandatory for the WBA super duper title. It makes sense. I also think that Canelo would vacate the wbc strap and he'd be made champion in recess.

An easy acquisition of a world title, whilst taking zero risk. These guys are exploiting the ignorance of mainstream casuals.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑02 Nov 2018, 15:39 Funny that both Canelo and GGG are going for the WBA ‘Regular’ belt.

Special maybe not but he's a better achiever in boxing than the likes of Heiland, Centeno Jr, Monroe Jr. and Willie Nelson etc.Onetimeonly wrote: ↑03 Nov 2018, 06:18What is so special about murata?apollo creed wrote: ↑02 Nov 2018, 12:30 I just want to say that based on facts that Brant is a more worthy opponent for GGG than Andrade and Jermall Charlo. Just true facts. You've asked me what is so special about Murata as being Brant's best win and I have answered you.

So a pro career at a different weight means absolutely nothing, but an amateur career at a different weight with headgear counts? Jesus dude, read a book or something. Your brain is a muscle that needs training. I recommend yurtle the turtle for you.
