How would you rate it? Fury knows how to box and he's the bigger guy but his inactivity/fighting shape is a big question mark.

As an expected one.

Wilder has big power but is so unbalanced and uncoordinated. On the other hand Fury's fighting shape ain't that good. He should've taken a few more fights.
Re: If Fury outboxes Wilder, how would you rate this performance ?
As his second best win.
Re: If Fury outboxes Wilder, how would you rate this performance ?
Seemingly if Eddie and AJ like it.
Re: If Fury outboxes Wilder, how would you rate this performance ?
If Fury wins legitimately, no matter the method, I will give him his due; he will have earned his shot at the real Heavy Weight Champion of this planet.

I'd rate it as a miracle greater than Moses parting that sea.
Can't happen. Won't happen.
Wilder is always ridiculed and underrated.
Fury is often described by his fanbase as an incredibly gifted boxer. A 260 lb Mayweather.
Neither view is fair or accurate.
Wilder wins by KO. Business as usual for him.
Fury ain't great. He falls within 8.

I almost started to remember Tyson as being clever and gifted until I rewatched the Wlad fight. It was realistically an atrocious performance by both. Tyson would surely have to perform much much better than he did that night to keep wilder off of him. Seriously what is the basis for the argument of Tyson being highly skilled? People are misremembering badly in my opinion and almost had me doing the same. Wilder throws wild punches but they land, it's unorthodox which makes him difficult not easy. But time will hopefully tell either way.

How would the judges rate ?
This is the question.
This is the question.

I am not so convinced.

If he likes to, he deserves a shot at AJ if he wins.
[/quote]
We are almost certainly getting fed AJ/Whyte next April unless DelBoy throws a spanner in the works!

Re: If Fury outboxes Wilder, how would you rate this performance ?
That depends on whether he wins or not as I fully expect him to outbox Wilder while the fight lasts. If he wins I will give him huge props because I really don't believe he is anywhere near his best.
I started out thinking he had zero chance but he very obviously does believe he will thrash Wilder and he has persuaded me with his words to give him a 35 -40% chance of winning now.

If Tyson is able to defeat the American by outboxing him, then surely we have to rate his performance based on watching the fight live and gauging Wilder’s effort levels and in-ring ability?apollo creed wrote: ↑04 Nov 2018, 03:15If Fury outboxes Wilder, how would you rate this performance ?
It takes two to tango and Fury’s performance should be rated according to whether he beat a very good or a very bad version of Wilder.
Only complete and utter morons would rate performances based on assumed preconceived attitudes towards potential outcomes of an event that hasn’t taken place yet!
Therefore, this is a shite thread!
Re: If Fury outboxes Wilder, how would you rate this performance ?
Actually that's true, especially considering the fact, that this kind of threads is pretty popular. There have already been similar ones, about Fury, Joshua and Wilder, about a one of them winning the other two. Dammit, people, let them fight first! Or maybe it's just a global frustration because of the current trend of marinading big fights?Enlightened-One wrote: ↑05 Nov 2018, 05:12 Only complete and utter morons would rate performances based on assumed preconceived attitudes towards potential outcomes of an event that hasn’t taken place yet!

Yes of course it's true but then we could all say "It's pointless to speculate, let's just wait and see what happens" in which case we might as well shut down the forum.

Re: If Fury outboxes Wilder, how would you rate this performance ?
The context of the question was not about predicting the outcome of a contest or the potential strategies employed by each fighter, but more about how people would rate someone’s performance, which of course you can only do after the event.
It’s like saying how great was Errol Spence’s Jr’s performance against Terrence Crawford?
Alternatively, how painful and smelly was that sh¡t that you’re going to take first thing tomorrow morning?
We know for certain (or speculate/predict) that you’re going to go to the toilet tomorrow and also anticipate the sort of substances you’ll likely deposit, but we can’t ask you to gauge how painful/smelly/enjoyable/impressive it will be or ask you to provide an accurate count of how many chunks your sh¡t will comprise of, because it hasn’t happened yet!
Another example… How did you rate the story for the next Avengers film that will be released in 2019? Did the storyline meet your expectations? Is it particularly impressive?
You can’t measure "something" that doesn’t exist or hasn’t happened yet! It’s a case of understanding the dictionary definition of English language words.
Do you see the difference?

Re: If Fury outboxes Wilder, how would you rate this performance ?
This fight is all upside for Fury.
And a no win situation for Wilder.
If Fury wins. Fury will be hyped up that after nearly 3 years out he's either the #2 heavyweight or the true lineal champion.
If Fury loses he was a fat out of shape ring rusted nobody who was lucky to fight an old Wladamir.
If Wilder loses he was exposed for the bum he always was.
If he wins so what he beat an old rusted shell of a lucky fighter.
No win for Wilder

Re: If Fury outboxes Wilder, how would you rate this performance ?
Can't really say. If he clutches and holds and smothers, I wouldn't rate it very high. If he truly out boxes and outpunches Wilder I'd be very surprised.
Re: If Fury outboxes Wilder, how would you rate this performance ?
Yes I do see the difference and I appreciate it ratchets up the level of speculation by adding another layer in that not only are you trying to anticipate the winner and the strategy/tactics employed by the boxers, but here you are required to predict the level of their performances. Arguably you are doing anyway in order to arrive at your predicted winner.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑05 Nov 2018, 07:58The context of the question was not about predicting the outcome of a contest or the potential strategies employed by each fighter, but more about how people would rate someone’s performance, which of course you can only do after the event.

It was my failure to anticipate Fury's unimpressive energy levels i.e. poor performance that led to my picking the wrong winner.

Re: If Fury outboxes Wilder, how would you rate this performance ?
Considering the 2 fights Fury has had since his come back and this is a big leap in quality of opponent I'd say a win where Fury actively outboxes Wilder over 12 rounds would rate highly.
Re: If Fury outboxes Wilder, how would you rate this performance ?
didnt you pick wilder to ko prime riddick bowe within 3 rounds? surely if you think wilder is that good any fury outpointing of wilder should rate well
