kinda a let down, i really wanted to see burnett-tete, and this type of ending takes a bit away from the feat of winning the tourney since burnett was never cleanly beat

nonito can certainly still fight--hes not shot--but still looked a step behind before the injury

see i thought it was 3-0 burnett and that he was clearly ahead before going down. nonito was in it but a step behind. however the punches looked neither guy seemed to damage the other with punches, even when nonito teed off a bit after the count.

38-37 burnett twice and 38-37 donaire

so two of them gave burnett the first 3 and then 10-8 to don in the 4th. the other gave burnett the first two and then the last two for donaire plus the kd

I think Burnett had the better of the stanzas that I saw. He was the only one putting together three punch salvos' and two fisted fuselages.

Anyone actually went to the fight, what was the crowd like? Didn't look busy from what I could gather

It’s the WBSS setting. They keep it dark and only have focus on the ring.

It’s like we’re not meant to see Hearn vs. FW..

First Andrade vs. BJS and now Burnett vs. Tete.

I’d suggest we knock up a Big Ron bingo card like we had for Jim Watt, but we’d have to make the writing tiny to make it all fit. I bet he’s brilliant at scrabble.
 I quite like Ron, he reads a fight quite well generally, I think he's better without a co commentator though, he talks too much, Barry barely got a word in last night

Josh is a fantastic talent, but wow so poor from Martin, froze like a deer in the headlights: a sitting duck in there.

Poor stoppage timing, but he needed saving ( and no way was Abel stopping it, he was just trying to gee up his man into action ).

What a fantastic card, and really puts Eddie Hearns pay-per-view shite into stark relief.

Bad luck Burnett, that was bizarre - but didn’t Hearn say he wasn’t putting him in with Tete ?

Ron needs to lace them up. At 6 ft 9 he'd take some beating at Middleweight.

As long as you have a good net connection it won’t buffer either. Watched it in my 49” screen.

During one fight he described a punch as “travelling in a downward trajectory” I can barely pronounce trajectory !

handsofstone wrote: 03 Nov 2018, 18:44 I know it was one sided but fvck me that was a bit hasty from Vic there, hope it doesn't take the shine off the masterclass from Taylor, he had that in the last fight with the Postol scores but TBH i'd rather talk about how fvcking good Taylor is, not really sure what Martin's tactics were, he froze on the big stage maybe but he never let his hands go, Taylor done exactly as he pleased, the body punching was phenomenol , Martin took them well to be fair but no doubt they were hurtful from both hands, he started to bring it up to the head as the rounds wore on, his movement is top drawer, he started quicker than usual tonight as well

The right hand to deck Martin in the 7th looked legit to me, maybe behind the ear? I thought Martin deserved a count, it was heading towards maybe pulling him out he was looking sorry for himself from the 1st round but it was mainly body punching that was breaking his heart

Still Taylor was 1st class again, Martin worried me slightly going in, Taylor hadn't fought many quick boxers since turning pro but Taylor bossed him every second
I was in the front row and Taylor gave him an absolute hammering. The body shots were crippling you could hear him grunting. Martin just didn’t know where the next punch was coming from. I thought he was just feeling Taylor out in the first but he was genuinely confused and outclassed. The final round Taylor was digging right in and Martin was wanting out you could see him sagging. He basically turned away at the end.

I wonder if one of the things Donaire said was if he wins the tournament of not he would give Burnett a rematch.

Yeah all boxing should be shown this way, no hype and biased chat between fights. A good commentator without a pre written script.

The stream was higher quality than my virgin box

He landed some hard shots. He’s not near as quick as he was before though.

Donaire told himself after the Frampton loss that he had to go back down in weight. It's 7 pounds, but at his age and how body adjusts, he must not have been that easy, he looked good. He probably will have more power agaisnt the guys at Bantamweight. Speed looked okay too.
