Who has the bigger profile in the US, Wilder or Joshua?

I think Lennox Lewis would never have been known in the US but for the Holyfield and then Tuson fights. The problem Joshua has in breaking the US is that nobody with the profile of either of those guys is around anymore.

after Fury beat Klitschko and before Joshua beat Klitschko Fury was the more popular but now it's Joshua.

among active fighters the most popular foreign fighter at the moment is probably Pacquiao. 2/3 are Joshua/Usyk.

Josh, I prefer Tyson though. I‘ve no problem with Josh and I understand his appeal but Tyson is more real and quirky. Josh comes across, to me at least, like a smooth marketing machine, as well as a great fighter tbf.

I won't say, that those two are extremely popular in my country (Russia). Of course, everyone, who at least intrests a bit in boxing or other combat sports, knows about them. Klitschkos were far more popular. Mayweather is still not forgotten. Pac is to be mentioned. Usyk and Gassiev are probably more known, this fight was hyped well. And, of course, Povetkin is more popular, I won't surprise, if some people here saw Joshua first recently, after he had won Povetkin. Actually today in my country I notice casuals talking more about MMA and maybe even not about MMA in general, but about McGregor, Khabib and still not forgetting Fedor.

Btw, an interesting thing about Fury and Joshua is the fact, that Fury is a far more entertaining person, but for AJ all the hype job is done better with his promotion. Well, for the moment Joshua has more convincing achievements overall. Fury was definitely more popular worldwide after defeating Klitschko. I personally was thinking of Joshua as a well-hyped prospect then.

Joshua by a mile,selling out stadiums with 70,000 to 80,000 fans every fight,Fury has said and done some bad things in the past,also he's boring to watch for the majority of people.

Not true. I was just getting into the sport in 96 and I knew who Lewis was. I think it's that Lewis fought on cards in the states. He fought Tony Tucker on the same card as McClellan/Jackson in Las Vegas. I don't think Joshua has fought on a single card in the states. And I can't think of a card he has fought on that had a caliber of match up as a McG/Jackson either.

Boxing also isn't as popular in the states as it was back in the 90s.

Neither of them are known, wilder would be more known than Josh. No idea with aj and fury . Lewis was known in the US long before he fought those guys. Boxing was still a big deal here.

Joshua sells out a football stadium every fight, he's far more popular. He has a boy-next-door persona (which may be fabricated) and a high KO ratio, so he's an easy guy to follow.

Fury's persona is not for everyone and his fighting style is very boring (though effective).

Thing with Fury is that he's a bit of a lunatic so there's always an element of the unexpected with him, which definitely attracts attention.

They would have to be unknown except to that tiny fragment of the population known as hardcore boxing fans.

Since Klitchko, Joshua seems more popular in the US than Fury. Most of my 'casual' fan friends have little knowledge on both fighters, but seem to have heard of AJ.

I know this is only speculative but can add something to the conversation i suppose. You can set it to include whichever country you choose aswell.

In short, Fury is less popular by google search than Anthony Joshua in every country but spiked a bit lately to be above Joshua over the past few months in the US.

Apparently people have heard of them in other countries...

Yes (in former Yugoslavia). Almost every day, believe it or not (portals, magazines, newspapers)...........
On Saturday there was an article (3/4 of page, about Fury's personal life) in the most popular newspapers in Bosnia.
