His last 3 fights have been pretty farcical really. Beat Flores easily, the first Haye fight was seriously dire both men gassed really badly towards the end. The last fight vs Haye again pretty dire and incompetiive.jamamb wrote: ↑07 Nov 2018, 01:11 watching some of bellews fights back, he has 'spotty' stamina.
meaning that he can end a fight with decent energy, but from mid fight on goes through a lot of energy lulls it seems. like he gets tired, goes quiet, then recharges, and repeats. usyk on the other hand after slower early rounds seems to heat up and have pretty much unabating energy
basically, i think, if he doesnt make a dent early, as it goes on hes going to really struggle to keep pace with usyk. its important that he can hurt usyk imo to compensate for usyk probably landing more and having more sustained success.
He won them all by stoppage but his opponents barely hit him back. Its gonna be a tough night.
Re: Oleksandr Usyk vs. Tony Bellew - 10 November 2018
I see this fight a bit like Calzaghe Hopkins. Ok different styles, but Tony may be dangerous early on with the Left hook but ultimately the pace is going to do him. He might try some old man tactics like Hopkins did to stall and upset Usyks rhythm but I just can't see Tony keeping up with the pace the Ukranian is going to set.
Tony recently retweeted a tweet from Andre Ward where Ward listed things fighters should do and one was stay in shape all year round, something Bellew doesn't practice himself. That is a factor that will play into this fight I suspect.
Its Usyk on points for me with Tony perhaps having some success with the left hook or straight right early in the fight.

Is it just me or does anyone else have a dreadful feeling that there's gonna be some controversy on Sat? Snidey scorecards, dodgy refereeing, bullshít stoppage? Isn't it fat Terry that's the referee as well
Re: Oleksandr Usyk vs. Tony Bellew - 10 November 2018
maybe, but remember usyk was just signed by matchroom and prob has more upside time in his career, built up as an aj challenger etc

I can see the scorecards being way off the mark. I think Usyk will dominate him from first to last bell but thescorecards all reflecting a close fight

Any thoughts on undercard? Is riakphore any use? Getting backed off the board in his fight.

I'm thinking Usyk wins in round seven. Any idea of the odds?
Re: Oleksandr Usyk vs. Tony Bellew - 10 November 2018
IMHO Too much Usyk will see no need for judges. Round 8 - 11 stoppage. Last fight at CW for Usyk.smiling assassin wrote: ↑07 Nov 2018, 09:33I can see the scorecards being way off the mark. I think Usyk will dominate him from first to last bell but thescorecards all reflecting a close fight

Well, we'll see. Stevenson got him out of there in six, and although Usyk isn't too aggressive I think Bellew will go for it when he gets behind.
Re: Oleksandr Usyk vs. Tony Bellew - 10 November 2018
Bellew is well out of his depth here; He may be ambitious early on due to his grandiose delusional self-belief ... but give him a round or two to come back down to the real world, and he goes the same way as he did against Stevenson.
Bellew has done fantastically well both financially and professionally to have gotten where he is from his limited talent. Best of luck to him - and hopefully he can have a long and comfortable retirement after this fight.

Ive just seen the open workouts.
Bellew looking really good, as trim as I've seen him since he was an actual cruiser.
He isn't coming in to cash a paycheck.

Well, being on the fence about buying the fight, I guess from my point of view it is encouraging at the least to see Tony in cracking good shape- I was a little concerned he would take the loss and the cash and retire. Frpm the looks of him though, he appears to be taking it seriously. I'm still not convinced I will buy the fight.
