Usky next move??
Usky next move??
No Doubt Eddie Hearn will have Usky on AJs April Undercard but against who?? I am thinking a beatable Heavyweight like Dave Allen ?? Thoughts??
Re: Usky next move??
Whyte-Chisora winner, I hope.................
Re: Usky next move??
Id like to see Usyk staying at cruiser. Mike Perez first, then Lawrence Okolie if he wanna big fight in UK. Then WBSS winner, If he can handle that, then go to heavyweight.

Re: Usky next move??
Can’t remember if this was bs (most likely bs) but I’ve heard talk of Andre Ward.
Re: Usky next move??
speaking of ward, i think he predicted usyk would lose to bellew and insinuated usyks just a hype job flavour of the month
Re: Usky next move??
RJJ moved-up and fought John Ruiz for a belt. David Haye moved-up and fought Monte Barrett, followed by Nikolay valuev for a belt. Steve Cunningham moved-up and fought Jason Gavern, followed by Tomasz Adamek. Tomasz Adamek moved-up and fought two bad gatekeepers before Chris Arreola.
Since Bellew technically counts as a heavyweight fight, Usyk will probably be looking to next fight a #10-15 heavyweight for some vacant interim belt. Wouldn't be surprising if it were against a former cruiserweight like Huck.

Re: Usky next move??
Of course, the most intriguing move will be a one upwards. But I don't think, fighting top HWs immediately will be a good idea. Some near-top guy will be ok. Maybe Martin or Washington. If I'm not mistaken, Usyk or someone of his camp talked about 2-3 fights before Joshua. That sounds good.
Re: Usky next move??
Chisora would be a good first HW fight. He'd be up for it when he loses to Whyte.
Second the likes of Takam, Parker or Pulev.
Then a title fight towards the end of next year.

Re: Usky next move??
If Whyte defeats Chisora, he will be his next opponent, likely. If not - nobody knows.
I would like to see H. Fury, Parker or Breazeale.

Re: Usky next move??
Last night Eddie Hearn named five potential opponents for Oleksandr Usyk:
• Dillian Whyte
• Dereck Chisora
• Alexander Povetkin
• Joseph Parker
• Jarrell Miller
I reckon the most likely opponents from that list of potential candidates would be Chisora (when he loses his bout against Whyte), Povetkin and Parker.
Miller and Whyte won’t consider facing Usyk until they’ve faced Anthony Joshua.
From a sporting perspective, a bout between non-English speakers like Oleksandr Usyk and Alexander Povetkin would be the best fight, but Matchroom cater to an English audience, so that may be a hard-sell.
So if I was a betting man, we may end up seeing Usyk facing Parker or Chisora soon, with the Kiwi considered the most likely candidate out of the five I've listed.

Re: Usky next move??
his next fight will most likely be on the aj undercard on April 13th maybe against someone like David price and then after a step up and another fight before facing the likes of aj or wilder in very late 2019 or 2020. I can see maybe miller and whyte (if he beats chisora) fighting for the wba regular if wilder faces aj and then usyk can face the winner of that in summer 2019 but I would be very surprised if he faces Joshua in 2019

Re: Usky next move??
id like to see him fornicate millers day. zero head movment vs volume puncher...
Re: Usky next move??
I disagree. Usyk's first fight at heavyweight should not be vs (Parker) a 240 lbs former world champion.
Oleksandr often weighs under 199 lbs on the official scales. How heavy (weight wise) can Usyk become at heavyweight? Don't you feel that this is a bit of a rush?
Any how, I feel Usyk should continue sweeping up the cruiserweight division for at least another year. Therefore, my opponent choice would be Beibut Shumenov.
Re: Usky next move??
shumenov isnt even a legit cruiser or a big cruiser
maybe they could start softer at hw, but parker would be good for one of his first few 2 hw fights

Re: Usky next move??
Rematch with Briedis before moving up to HW. Their fight was tough and as close as you can get. Briedis is unfinished business for Usyk.
Re: Usky next move??
Usyk cleaned out the Cruiserweight division.
I would say need one/two fights at HW against top opposition and then Joshua.

Re: Usky next move??
Usyk will be forced to wait in line for a shot at AJ, unless he beats one of Joshua’s mandatory challengers.
The thing is... why would anyone willingly risk losing a guaranteed huge payday opportunity by facing AJ, in preference to accepting a much smaller fight purse in order to engage in a high-risk bout against Usyk instead?
I can’t imagine anyone being daft enough to do that.
I doubt that we’ll get to see a bout between AJ and Usyk before the second half of 2020, at the earliest, due to a combination of Joshua’s busy schedule and Eddie Hearn wanting the public demand for this fight to “marinate”.

I think Ortiz would be a good fight for him.
Re: Usky next move??
Andy Ruiez?
Good chin, good engine, quick hands and not monster tall.
It won't be Joe Joyce, that's for sure

Re: Usky next move??
Anyway, I think Usyk should face three solid HWs next year (at least the top 15) and try to become the champion in the first part of 2020 (against Joshua ? Wilder ? Fury ?)....
Let us say : Whyte, Parker, H. Fury.......

Re: Usky next move??
Me too. I like to see guys stake a claim like "here's my division, somebody try to beat me in it." And I don't like the perception that there are major league weight classes and minor league ones and fighters should all migrate to the majors no matter what their best fighting weights are.
