Usyk vs Joshua who would win?

Post by cromen27 »

If Usyk would gain some weight and step in the ring with Joshua, do you think it would be a good fight?

Usyk is in another league and would give the robotic Joshua a schooling, possibly stooping him.

Usyk would probably beat him. I can see him as a heavyweight. I think Hearn will build that fight though, so it’s still some way off.

Usyk is smarter, more skilled, has a better movement. On Joshua's side are size and punching power. Joshua has already been outboxed by Klitschko and Povetkin. Both of them were ahead (without an actual biased scoring) before being KOed. Usyk has a better chin, than Wlad's one, which probably won't be enough to take AJ's clean punch, cause Povetkin wasn't able to do it and his chin was very good. But Usyk is better defence-wise, than Povetkin, he is far more elusive. Povetkin was pretty one-dimensional against AJ: coming in with power punches time after time. It took Joshua about the half of the distance to figure Povetkin out and catch him. But Joshua's ring IQ won't be enough for Usyk. The Ukrainian can circle around Joshua, outjab him, score with noticeable left hands from time to time. Usyk has real chances to win.

How do you figure uskys chin is better? He's not had to take punches from heavyweights as yet.

Wlad was dropped for many times. Usyk took shots from Briedis and Gassiev well. Those are big punchers and easlily can compete at the HWs. Briedis actually did it, when he KTFO Charr there. Usyk chin is obviously better, than Wlad's one.

Usyk does have a decent chin.

AJ is not a one punch KO artist.

Usyk is a much smarter fighter.

Usyk has better movement.

AJ has issues with movers.

Usyk does get caught a bit to be fair, but he just smiles through them. Didn’t look hurt 1 but last night against Bellew.

AJ hits MUCH harder than anybody he has faced.

I'd give USYK a chance, but his chin will have to be titanium, or he would have to fight a perfect fight. I'd make him a big underdog but it would be a very interesting fight.

Holy sh*t, as if there's a huge gap between Briedis, Gassiev and the likes of Brewster, Sanders, etc, who dropped and/or stopped Wlad.

There are several decisive factors :

1. Punching power : Joshua 10/10, Usyk 7/10
2. Chin (punch resistance/recovery) : Joshua 8/10, Usyk 10/10 at CW (HW ??)
3. Mind-set/hearth : Joshua 10/10, Usyk 10/10
4. Stamina : Joshua 7/10, Usyk 10/10
5. Skills : Joshua : 8/10, Usyk 10/10
6. Mobility : Joshua 8/10, Usyk 10/10

7. The judges/referees will be on Joshua's side, I have no dilemma.

The key(s) for victory : Joshua's capability to punch cleanly at least once (and, unfortunately - the judges and the ref).

Joshua wins a lop sided UD in a close and ugly fight.

Canvas will be like a memory foam mattress.
Ref wont stop the grab & lean.
Judges scorecards filled out before the first bell.

Usyk will beat most heavys, but Joshua is a tough task. So are Fury, Wilder and Ortiz. I think it will be difficult for him to outbox a 6'9 opponent with a good jab.

There is a gap of 30-50 pounds.

I can't help but believe that AJ would steamroll Usyk. I don't see Usyk competitive with any top 5 HW at this time. Too small.

Sanders was 225 lbs, when he KOed Wlad, Brewster - 226. Rehydrated Usyk will obiously move beyond 200 limit. There won't be even a 30 gap.

Weight doesn’t matter.

Wilder and Povetkin weigh around 220lbs.

Usyk can still beat guys via TKO. Ref stoppages.

Bellew said himself, he might not have the best power out there but it’s how he let’s his shots go.

He can adapt well and he’s shown us that before.

Giving Joshua an 8/10 for mobility is a bit generous?

I think that I was right, he has a decent mobility for HWs.
