Yes, Bellew had some tools for the good start, but there was not enough of them, Usyk figured out everything and provided the logical ending.

Stephen ‘Breadman’ Edwards was right when he claimed that Usyk throws Calzaghe type stick shots that he doesn’t fully commit to that are hard to counter. It’s like death by a 1,000 paper cuts.

Huge fan of the Breadman. Bellew fought out of his skin tonight, but that statement is bang on. Usyk always looked like he had another gear, and couldn't miss once he got into his stride.

When you apply the 4 scoring criteria, Usyk won every round.

I think Bellew won the first two rounds but then Usyk became serious...

Usyk is not a pillow fighter when he decides to sit on his punches which usually happens later in his fights. Also, Bellew's chin is far from iron. Usyk's punch was very accurate, but not his hardest.

ya usyk is one of those guys who seems to sacrifice power for speed and volume on his punches. you can clearly see from his technique most of the time that he is usually not throwing in a way to achieve the max power in his shots. loma is the same way, maybe its related to them both being brought up in the same amateur system with i think same trainers. notice that both of them, while a lot of points wins or attritonal stoppages, have shown also the potential for some nasty ktfos.

gvodzyk came up with them too, and he kinda throws a lot of the same arm punches, though he sits down a bit more and looks more consistently like a puncher.

Compared to his other attributes I'd say punching power is the least of them, which is not to say that Usyk is a powder-puff puncher. The shot that finished Bellew was pretty impressive I'd say.

I agree with the 'death by a thousand paper-cuts' analogy, that sums it up well.

I missed this weekend of fights, but hell, I wasn't expecting Usyk to stop Bellew. Now that's impressive. Usyk destroys AJ. He needs to move up ASAP.

Dillian Whyte fancies the job, I'd like to see it, be a good indicator.

Wouldn't be a bad first fight at HW (or Del Boy, if Whyte loses their rematch).

I think as durable as Whyte is, and as much as he does hit a bit harder than the cruisers, I don't think his feet or hand speed are good enough to avoid getting schooled. Whyte carries more weight, but I doubt he'd have height or reach over Usyk. I want to see how he deals with being the smaller man, before he takes on the giants at the top. Joyce rematch or Breazeale maybe?

Might give the division a bit of a shake instead of watching Wilder and Joshua circling each other.. Will be interesting to see who he is willing to fight and who is willing to fight him.

Having Fury back and Usyk stepping up will add some much needed interest

agree with the op, bellew did very well. watching it live it seemed more dramatic than it actually was as usyk was walking into big punches. if bellew really was a monster puncher it could have been trouble.
in retrospect, usyk likes to turn up the gears gradually, finishing very strong.

very mean jamamb.

surely usyk would box the socks off many top heavies. and he relies on speed so you wouldnt expect him to be a big heavy, 215 or so perhaps.
i suppose it will be interesting.
