Tony Bellew's wife's foul-mouthed homophobic rant caught on camera after fight
Re: Tony Bellew's wife's foul-mouthed homophobic rant caught on camera after fight
The poor woman was walking away genuinely upset, it clearly wasn't a situation where she was confronting folk looking for a row.
I reckon the waiter was bang out of order. If she was my missus I would look for him and have a strong word.

maybe but i dunno, making plenty of assumptions yourself there

If the fella was so innocent and so upset he would be running of to the old bill not a tabloid rag. His motives are financial.

If the guy was a real man, he would have just apologised and let her go off on one if she really had to, not filmed her and gone to the tabloids. Who cares if some random woman shouts at them?

I agree with Coco - she was set up, knowing that she was both female and scouse and her hubby got KO'd that they would get good probable viral footage of her losing it.
They didn't know who she was... she probably had a massive VIP pass around her neck or her person, do the stewards not know who their top VIPs were at any given event - still - they were quick to press record on their crappy phones for something that just came as random as they claimed...

It's strange these days, grassing was always seen as a bad thing but now everyone is looking to shaft someone by filming them and putting it online, those Lycra wearing pricks with the head cams are the worst for it, never stop at lights themselves but a car driver makes a mistake and that's it confrontation, next thing, million views on YouTube.Boxerbeetle wrote: ↑13 Nov 2018, 17:33 If the guy was a real man, he would have just apologised and let her go off on one if she really had to, not filmed her and gone to the tabloids. It does look like provocation, but you shouldn't call anyone those things in this day and age. Because whether or not the recipient's hurt (probably a baiting shite, aye), you're encouraging the division in society that affects innocents. Most of whom probably aren't offended by her comments — that's on her, but they might well be if we defend them.
There are hundreds of other terms of abuse, so why go for those? It's the same as narrowing abuse of black people down to racist language when the situation has nothing to do with that; with narrowing abuse of Muslims down to terrorist terms, and so on. If the Bellews are today's John Fashanus they've no excuses, and none of us should condone it. Being a man isn't about how much you can take personally, writing off those who can't, it's about how well you treat those around you.
We'd all forgive her totally if she'd called him almost anything else. So why didn't she? I'd say because she wanted to use the most hurtful language (doesn't guarantee she's homophobic), and by choosing those words she revealed an ugly side. It's fine to call that out, and to reflect on why such words are among our most offensive.

Agreed! People are way too sensitive these days. Perhaps the bloke should've simply replied, "Whore pudendum!" By making an issue of it, it makes her comments more powerful, not less. A good reply in kind would've been better, and be done with it. We'll never know the whole truth.smiling assassin wrote: ↑13 Nov 2018, 12:38 This country has gone mad. As a straight white dude, as most of us on this forum are, I'd be the one showing sensitivity if I called other people too sensitive for asking me to pay mind to things that affect them and not me.
What's the worst I'm gonna get called? Cracker? Honky? So what, I'm not racially oppressed. Manners don't cost.

I agree. I'm just saying that folks should stand up for themselves at the time of the perceived offense and stop running for their 15 minutes of fame. She's a dope. She's a beetch. So deal with it rather than make a video showing the whole world the ridiculous rant.Grilling Machine wrote: ↑13 Nov 2018, 19:18 As a straight white dude, as most of us on this forum are, I'd be the one showing sensitivity if I called other people too sensitive for asking me to pay mind to things that affect them and not me.

Don’t think anyone is defending what she said, just saying that there’s much better ways of dealing with things than running straight off to sell the story to the tabloids.Grilling Machine wrote: ↑13 Nov 2018, 19:00 It does look like provocation, but you shouldn't call anyone those things in this day and age. Because her "religious" values are demonising others. LGBT aren't threatening other groups with their way of life.SAPFO wrote: ↑13 Nov 2018, 12:31 What I hate about society at the minute is the fact your are being bullied into accepting LGBT, or you are give the label "homophobic". If you're not gay then what is there to accept? That other people live differently to you?
I'm not concerned with defending an individual or groups views that involve hatred towards a certain group of people, especially if their main reason is an understanding of a book that's hundreds of years old.

To be fair, in the context of the situation she could have just meant ‘don’t you realise I’m married to the guy who just got ktfo so please show a bit of sensitivity’ rather than ‘don’t you realise I’m important’, if that makes sense.ShadrachSimmo wrote: ↑14 Nov 2018, 05:46 “Do you know who I am?”

Also..,
I@m with the gayers on principle - they're not hurting anyone so deserve to be free to live as they choose.
If you side with the religious, - without principle - because "that's what they believe" then it's fine to start hurting people, ordering them how to live and (eventually, at the bottom of the slippery slope) you end up with wickedness like the Irish dead-babies horror or Sharia honour killings.
Having said that,
I'd be surprised if Mrs B really does 'hate gays' enough to be called a homophobe in a national newspaper. She could have a lot more class - sure, but doubtless she was just emotional and lashing out. We should all remember this 'story' is just clickbait for The Daily Star to make a few shekels - not exactly 'Journalism of the Year' award stuff !

You had to be bullied in to accepting gay people? Wtf is wrong with you?SAPFO wrote: ↑13 Nov 2018, 12:31 It does seem more likely that someone made the 'glad he got knocked out comment' and had their camera ready for the reaction.

Who gives a fvck about religion, it's not real and makes people treat people like sh1t based on who they are and what they are. Gay people on the other hand are real, you don't have to be bullied in to accepting that, you can just accept that and not be an ejit and get over yourself
