Can Broner beat Pac-Man?

Post by lazboy »

I think he could give Pac a tough fight. Given pacs advanced age I could see it being even. Pac winning the early rounds but Broner - a notorious late starter coming on towards the end.

Can’t say I read too much into the Matthyse fight which looked very strange and yes I did pick Lucas to win.

I think Broner has a chance to win against 2019 Pac. He isn't going to put his face out there like Lucas did. He will probably be defensively cagey and counter punch.

No. He doesn't throw anywhere near enough punches. Even the 2019 pac will out work him.

Bingo, broner isn't a counterpuncher as he can't defend and punch at the same time. He is most effective coming forward aggressively but his lack of activity will leave Manny to do as he pleases. 10-2 or so.

I guess when the day comes that Pacquiao gets old overnight, anyone in the top 15 could beat him. If Pacquiao is no worse than last fight, I think he could still pull it out.

If he gets his arse in gear and ups his work rate then he can win but he'll probably do his usual and sit back and cover up and allow himself to be out worked.

I won't pick him against Pac. At his maximum he can be pretty good, will make Pac miss a lot, but he still will score less himself, so Pac'll take the decision.

Adrien Broner “could” potentially beat Manny Pacquiao and he certainly has the talent to do so. However, he doesn’t possess the right mental attitude and determination to make the most of his pugilistic talents.

So, I expect Broner to fade during the second half of his bout against Pacquiao (as he doesn’t live the lifestyle of a world class athlete), be outworked by the Filipino veteran and then lose by a comfortable margin on the judges’ scorecards.

If Adrien is really “up” for this fight, prepares himself for the biggest test of his career and genuinely possesses the desire to win this contest, then he's capable of doing so, but in reality Broner is a lazy fúckíng bȁstȁrd and will instead simply do just about enough to avoid suffering a stoppage defeat.

Broner can absolutely beat a 40-year-old Pacquaio if he has it in him to move his hands from the opening bell.

The guy is tough and can fight. It's Broner's mental makeup, especially since the Maidana fight, that has him treading in mediocrity.

Perhaps, with time, Kevin Cunningham can change that.

Pacquiao isn't that difficult to hit any longer, and like all aging fighters, he fights only in flurries. He takes off much of each round.

Broner is talented enough to take advantage of Pacquiao's physical deterioration and beat him.

It's the mental part that might hold him back.

If it's gonna take Broner upping his volume significantly to beat Pacquiao, that won't happen. Even if he came out gunning he's gonna revert back to that slow style instinctively, catching shots, movement, trying to feint & draw shots back to counter occasionally but mostly pot shot.. Every time Broner gets touched up early that mental aspect gets him. He turtles up, almost like autopilot. No combinations, disengaging, just doesn't look all there. I thought he turned a small corner on that issue when he came out that 12th round against Porter, after losing round after round, he came out firing, focused, dropped Porter hard. I think Cunningham has been good, built on that. Still, Broner should have clearly separated himself from Jessie Vargas and didn't. Even an old Pacquiao has plenty left to beat either of those guys today. Unless he gets old overnight. That's a realistic possibility, though I seriously doubt it.

Broner is gonna get worked, he'll have spots of success but nothing sustained because he is over anxious about counters which is why I think his work rate is low. Pac still has some steam on the end of his punches and has good enough foot speed to land his power and get in and out consistently. I would not be surprised if Broner gets hurt badly or dropped later in the fight due to the accumulation of Pacs work. I got a competitive in spots but mainly a on sided beat down delivered by Pac.

Don't really see how Broner wins but i certainly think he'll have some success in spots. I think Pac over the course of fight will significantly outland Broner.

Can pac stop Broner? I don't think so - but it is a possibility.

Of course, Broner isn't Mayweather, but he can fight in a similar style, not that polished, however he can do enough to survive and avoid the biggest shots. Especially now, when Pac himself isn't prime.

He tries to emulate Floyd but he's not remotely effective when he does. You said broner would make PAC miss a lot and I asked whom he has made miss a lot and you said may weather. :maybe:

Oh, I got it wrong. I thought, who had made Pac miss a lot, but not whom Broner had. Well, Malignaggi, Granados, Vargas, for example.

Three razor close fights and none of those guys are anywhere near Manny's, even at this age, level. Broner isn't slick or a standout defensive fighter. He lacks the fundamentals and he also lacks Instincts. A lot of fans confuse fast for slick. Guys like Paulie and Judah are two more. Adrien isn't hard to hit.

Paulie and Judah are fast despite not being slick, yes, but Broner has some slickness, he's talented in this, but he was always wasting his talents.

His talent is as an aggressive come forward fighter. He just isn't a natural flowing fighter. He has physical gifts, he just thinks too much in there and he's not good at thinking
. His shoulder roll attempts are pathetic.
