Former WBC Lightweight Champion Omar Figueroa Jr. (27-0-1, 19 KOs) returns after a long injury layoff to face former title challenger John Molina Jr. (30-7, 24 KOs).
This bout takes place on the Santa Cruz vs. Flores undercard.
Very good fight. One of those fights we missed at 135 lbs. is happening now. Either ends in brutal stoppage from John Molina landing a bomb or goes on to be a war.

You not backing Fig?
Has he ever fought a big puncher before? I'm not sure if he has because Molina hits hard. Figueroa isn't hard to hit either. Molina struggles more with elusive guys. He can outbox dudes like he did with Provodnikov. I think it's 50-50, but I'm slighltly leaning towards Molina if he isn't completely shot from all the wars at this point.
Molina got a good win against Redkach last time but won't have a single fight in 2018. Anyone know why? Essentially 2 part time fighters at this point. I'll be rooting for Molina. At least he's showed a willingness to test himself. Might be wrong but never got the same vibe from Figueroa.

Belmontes and Burns arguably beat Figueroa already. I'm actually okay with Molina not fighting much. The guy can't help but to go to war. That's not good for his longevity in this sport.
Figueroa has been matched pretty carefully. He's struggled with just about everyone they've matched him with. I think his best performance was against Estrada and Guerrero.

Don't think I watched him vs Belmontes but I remember Burns pushing him closer than I thought he would. Still thought Figueroa edged it but it was mainly due to his size advantage. The ref was poor in that fight as well. Kept pulling at Burns' arm in the clinch and giving Figueroa a chance to land body shots.
Figueroa wants to make a statement in the contest, by putting Molina away in the first half of the fight.
He doubts Molina will last more than six rounds.
"I'm looking to come back strong against Molina. My style is always to go in there for the knockout and give the fans a great show. The sooner we get him out of there, the better," Figueroa said.
"We know that John Molina is a tough fighter. He's been in there with some of the best in the world and he's given them problems. We expect him to bring a great fight. We've seen Molina box before and make things difficult for certain fighters. I'm going to try to make the fight my style of fight and we'll see if he obliges. Once he feels the power, he might choose to box.
"I don't think this goes past six rounds. I'm confident about that. We're going to be ready for anything Molina brings. I've been doing a lot of healing physically, mentally and spiritually. I'm looking to show on Saturday that I've got everything together."
I agree with the winner but what the heck are these judges doing? They spent that long to complete their scoring? It was only a ten round fight. My nephew can add ten rounds. in two minutes
fig feels like hes been around a while and run up this big unbeaten record without really doing anything impressive, what r his biggest accomplishments

I thought it could go either way, but I'm blown away by the scoring. Crock of shvt!
There was a huge delta in landed punches. I felt like Molina threw one to every 5 punches that Omar threw. It didn’t look like Molina had a big problem with scores.
The announcers and Larry Hazard were putrid. Hazard got confused with who he was scoring for. I felt they were watching a different fight all night lol. Why can’t PBC just get professional announcers? They just keep throwing awful ones together
