I hope you get a chance to read the book, Buzz. George is very forthright in discussing all his major fights, and he shares great insights on some of his lesser-known opponents, like Mike DeJohn and Tony Alongi. As for SenorPipino's "observation," you can dismiss it. Chuvalo takes full responsibility for his poor efforts against the likes of Rademacher, Corletti and Mathis ... and gives his detailed take on why Cooper was afraid to fight him.

He had a lot of trouble giving his opponents credit when they beat him. If you listen to Chuvalo, he was never really beaten.

Just unfair decisions and referees stopping fights prematurely.

If he fought Bugner, he would be clearly outboxed. But Chuvalo would insist that it was the worst decision ever.
You are thinking the same thing of how Bugner would defeat Chuvalo by out-boxing him with his longer reach and solid combinations to take a decision.
