Ricardo Mayorga has failed a post fight drug test after traces of the diuretic Furosemide were found in his system.
It is used to lose weight faster or can be used to mask steroids.
Looks as if something is amiss in Nicaragua as another boxer Rosendo Alvarez tested positive for the same substance after his title fight last month.
the one thing I can never understand is why are boxers not tested before the fight? What would happen is the opposing boxer gets seriously injured and the winner then tests positive for a drug, wouldn't that be manslaughter?
Mayorga fails drugs test
Unlikely he is in on the juice, more likely that he was lazy in camp and couldnt get the weight off quick enough
Testing before a fight is highly impractical.... you would need a sterile lab at the arena and there wouldnt be enough time to process the results of the test.....
Also it would be possible to take your test, be clean, then take a stimulant just before you enter the ring.....

Yeah true, and i'd have to say that i'd have thought that Mayorga would have taken it to lose weight as wellknockout wrote:Unlikely he is in on the juice, more likely that he was lazy in camp and couldnt get the weight off quick enough
