Hearn told him not to go, because Hearn doesn't want to do anything that might encourage anyone to buy the Wilder vs Fury card. If Joshua is there, fans see a possibility of Joshua vs the winner happening afterwards. That encourages buys. That improves Wilder's bargaining position.

The bigger this show turns out the bigger AJ v. Winner would pan out and make any split worth more wealth.

If the fight was happening in the near future, I'd agree. As it's a fair way off (a year at least), Hearn has no interest in helping promote the Fury fight.

He never attends any shows tbh. As soon as his fights over, he chips to Malaga or Jamaica or wherever. Then comes back to UK just in time for his next fight to be announced.. then he’s hidden whilst at training camp.

Last time i think I saw him was at British Beef back in Feb and that’s because he co-promoted it.

Anthony Joshua has been weighing up whether he will be ringside or not for the biggest heavyweight fight of the year between his two rivals Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury on December 1st.

He’s made the decision now and has opted to not go due to sponsorship commitments.

That said, he’s just back from a holiday in Jamaica and it does appear to be rather surprising considering most sponsorship commitments can be done online these days.

Or even at that, you would have thought he’d have been able to have taken a night off to get to LA to watch a fight that carries so much importance for him.

He’s said he wants to unify the heavyweight division next year and to do that he needs to get through the winner of December 1st so the whole thing seems rather strange.

A bit of a PR opportunity to build the fight for him against the winner missed too.

Ok I was wrong in truth I don’t think he needs too as the winner will be calling him out anyway especially if it’s Fury ( which I doubt) he’s better of watching at home looking for weaknesses to be fair. No point in unescessery confrontations

On your first point - Wilder needs to increase his profile, Joshua doesn't. Makes sense for Wilder to try and cling to his coat tails wherever possible, but why should Joshua fly half way around the world to "promote" a fight that might never even happen? Why do Wilder's promoters job for him?

On your second point, I agree 100%. There are some occasions where it can work (e.g. Joshua/Klitschko) but for the most part it seems quite tacky and staged.

Wilder attended Joshua-Wlad, but strictly a pundit.. He didn't have any confrontation, which was fine..

TBH, Wilder is known in the UK, not just because of Joshua, but before Joshua turned pro. I think most UK boxing fans have been dollowing him since he annihilated Harrison in Sheffield.

Wilder did get a bit of stick for not attending Joshua-Parker after first sayig he would.. But he knows he was being set up becasue Whyte said he would get up in his face.

Aye good point, but im sure Aj raising his profile in the US wouldnt hurt, hes not a superstar in that country. And lets face it, its Aj's team that are holding up the fight, not Wilder
