boxers and terrorism (sort of off topic, sort of not)

dont mean to start anything extreme here, just found it a bit interesting...

an aussie boxer named jake carr just retired, and in browsing through various antipodean records after giving carrs a look, i came aross that of mohammed elomar, retired at 19-1

elomar was involved in various extremist activities and died in 2015 fighting for isis in iraq. i believe he was involved in some pretty gruesome stuff there

got me thinking then,theres not really a shortage of other cases. elomars brother was involved in extremism too, theres also anthony small, and the boston marathon bomber was a pretty decent amateur in the usa, and there was russian who boxed a lot as an amateur in canada who later returned to chechyna for terrorism. ive also read about some young asian lads in the uk who did a bit in the ams before getting caught up in it. plenty other guys with general martial arts backgrounds too.

any other cases you know of boxers of any level being involved in this stuff? perhaps with boxing often being a poor mans game, there is some link between what drives people into boxing and terrorism? is there any link between ppl being drawn to boxing and terror because of the violence and aggression of it?

Probably happens quite a lot, boxing tends to attract people who if they didn't box they would probably be criminals.
