Oscar Bonavena vs Brian London

Post by scorpio83 »

Who would win between Oscar "Ringo" Bonavena and Brian London? Would Ringo batter London into submission or knock him out. I say Ringo would.

Not even a competitive contest. London was at best European level. Bonavena was one of the top five best contenders of the era, and imho gave Ali one of his toughest fights. That's really the gauge. London lasted three rounds in a completely one-sided match, Bonavena nearly went the whole fifteen in a very competitive contest. Ringo gets him in five-six rounds tops.

If Brian London had one of his good days like when he fought Ingemar Johansson, Amos Johnson or Billy Walker he might have gone the distance (losing on points), but there is big chance that he would be stopped in 5 to 8 rounds.

Both of these lads have good chins. And by good chins I mean large chins.

Bonavena was an odd looking bloke that's for sure with a very strange style. Given how often he was caught square on I'm amazed he didn't suffer more knockdowns. And I can only see London getting busted up inside the distance here.
