Me too. I hope Fury rams my words back down my throat (only not literally thank you so much)

He's done a great job of fighting the scales. I hope and pray he can do a similar job on Wilder but I'm still not optimistic because scales don't punch like Wilder.

,Lol, I wanted him to beat wlad so bad and he was killing me with how wide open he was. Especially when he would give up his height, bend over and prop his chin up on a platter and flick a sp jab to the body. Glimpses of Whitaker!

I'd love to see a calzaghe versus Lacy, but you have to favour wilder don't you. Hope I'm wrong. Having roach, Hatton and this Ben lad in the corner indicates a bit of insecurity to me.

Maybe in a funny way .fear of being out the ring might keep him switched on more so then usual .Could turn out to help fury .Because wilder can bang you out any time he lands a good shot don't matter how many fights you've had previously .bit of luck plays part

No doubt about it. And it gets overlooked it seems to me.

People forget Ortiz was ahead on most observers cards and almost took Wilder out himself. If he wasn’t pushing 50, didn’t have high blood pressure or run out of steam then Ortiz could well have beaten Wilder.

Actually Ortiz did beat Wilder. They had to save their pet by doing the monkey business with the ring doctor and referee in round 8 - and now they've scoured round 8 off the internet so you can't even see it. Like Ortiz said, Wilder has some deep pocket handlers.

Personally fit or not fit Fury has a uphill challenge here. Those 2 warm up fights were just gym work and trying to beat a world class opponent in his 3rd outing is pretty tough imo. If Fury beats Wilder and beats him is style this has to be the biggest upset boxing has seen in a long time. This win out eclipse his last world title challenge.

It would not surprise me if Fury beats Wilder on points in a scrappy 12 round fight but can Fury go 12 rounds after such a long time out?

Its an interesting fight and my head tells me that Wilder will spark out Fury inside 7 rounds but again I expect Fury to keep long and try to take Wilder on points. I cannot see how Fury can knock Wilder out.

Agreed. Wilder will press the action, not allowing Fury to poke and plod.

wilder would ko fury either way but no fury is defo not as ready as he could be, he hasnt faced a live body in 3 years and trashed his body. and there is a big difference between shedding tons of weight quickly and actually training for supreme conditioning.

a more gradual comeback and maybe he could last a few more rounds

Wilder has not faced an opponent skilled in "head movement", like Tyson Fury. It presented huge problems for Wlad. Do you think it will do the same to Wilder?

Fury not being "man enough" to beat wilder is the winner of "most stupid statement" of late & competition is tough but that idiocy tops it all.

You gotta give Gil a pass on this one. He hates Fury with a passion and finds it impossible to be logical and objective about anything "Gipsy King"related.

He is generally very knowledgeable and not given to making stupid comments but I guess we ll have our blind-spots.

Yep. I always give Gil a pass on anything Fury related. Something about Tyson Fury grinds his gears, and that's fine. I get it.

'Something about Tyson Fury grinds his gears,' Could it possibly be any of the following?

Colossal amount of prefight boasting and promises time and time again but only delivering a huge lack of subsequent action. Playing the hard man when you're almost 7 foot tall, yet entering the ring with only 1 forward gear and 3 for reverse.

Avoided the Klitschko rematch at all costs. I bet Wlad would even agree to do it again now.

A controversial end to the drug test failure. Attempted to imply blackmail threats against UKAD.

Using mental health issues as a ready made excuse for his poor behaviour.

Many fighters, like the rest of us, have suffered from personal problems but prefer to address them privately. There are even rumours surrounding Wladimir's lacklustre performance against Fury himself, but so far Wlad has stoically kept his silence.
To make matters worse most, if not all of Fury's subsequent problems seem to have been self-inflicted.

A diabolical role model and ambassador for the sport that's made him a very wealthy man.

Continually playing the poor persecuted victim when challenged without once acknowledging his own shoddy behaviour towards fellow professional fighters.

Apart from that it's good to see him back in the ring, keeping busy, hopefully helping Deontay Wilder sharpen up for his showdown with Anthony Joshua next year.

Anything can happen in this fight including the fight not happening but I'll go with a Wilder KO with Wilder losing every round up to that point.
