Liddell might have something seriously wrong with him. 48 isn't prime for anyone, but that's my age and I honestly don't think he could beat me right now. That's a real steep decline.

He's a big party guy so he probably spent the better part of the last 10 years on drugs and booze. Plus his chin was gone a long time ago. He ended his career on 3 straight knockouts.

He hasn't drank anymore than I have. I think something serious is going on with him. Hope you're right.

It’s the drugs, alcohol along with the constant head trauma that does it. Going into this fight he had been finished by strikes 5x along with whatever happened in the gym. He’s been looking punchy for quite a while IMO.

Even in his last fight against Franklin, you could see he'd trained hard and was still fairly sharp physically, but once Franklin landed on him it was over. He's just been concussed too many times.

I predict an easy win for Adesanya that is hyped as a sensational coming of age of a new potential champion.

Yeah, an aging silva will get worked over by adesanya

Still, not as shameful as Ortiz-Liddell 3

Weird fight which Adesanya will almost certainly win.

Personally I'd prefer he fight Costa. That would be a great 50/50 fight that would launch one of them to the next level of contendership.

Yeah, apart from andersons name on his record, which means little at this point, adesanya gets nothing from this fight :maybe:

He’s getting a title shot, if Silva is to be believed. That’s plenty of reason.

Quite a few of the knockouts, he has suffered whereby he has been knocked out cold, the punches didn't even look like they had much on them, which is slightly worrying.

His chin is gone, which is sad given that it used to be great.

And as it’s already been stated he’s struggled with drugs and alcohol for years. You can’t do that to your body and not expect it to decline more quickly than it should.

BJ Penn apparently the latest on the comeback trail, saying he is ironing out a 4 fight deal with the UFC. Im dubious as, even if it is true, i doubt they would give him a 4 fight contract off the bat.

I really hope this isnt the case, as Penn is one of my all time favourites. I gotta say, i was surprided he came back the last time.... he was a wreck in his post fight interview after the second Edgar fight.... he said he was done and emotionally he looked like someone done with the sport....

sergei has some pretty legit pure boxing showings too, gave hrgovic hell in world series of boxing and lost that only by split decision, also gave helenius a very tough amateur fight

i remember him fighting nogeuria back in the day, and i think one or both of the nog bros had pretty resepctable boxing experience too. i think the one who was less accomplished in mma did more in boxing and competed in some high level international tournaments like the pan am games.
Finally watched Kharitonov vs Hrgovic. Damn 5 round war, better than most HW boxing or MMA these days at that. Sergei obviously slower than in his prime but the way he drops those heavy uppercuts and body shots are just so satisfying. Hrgovic got nailed hard throughout and was in trouble for the last 30 secs, showing a good chin though. Sergei can fuckin crack. Good fight.
