Good point James but it throws up many interesting questions.jamesmcdonnell wrote:Let's get this in perspective, whilst Hamed is undoubtedly irresponsible thrashing his car around at 90mph on a dangerous road, it's not like he assaulted the bloke with a hammer and deliberately tried to kill him, I doubt Hamed went out thinking 'I'm going to drive like a loonie and see if I can kill someone and maybe even myself in the process'
Hamed might be stupid, but it doesn't make him the fornicating antichrist.
I think there's a lot of gloating about this because he is a wealthy man, but he's hardly the only man to have fucked someone over in a crash.
No you're right he's not the only man to have ever done it but that still doesn't make it right does it? It also doesn't make it right that he also left the scene of the accident either does it? No doubt if it was your family involved in this accident, that could have needlessly been avoided, you would not be so blase about it all.jamesmcdonnell wrote:Let's get this in perspective, whilst Hamed is undoubtedly irresponsible thrashing his car around at 90mph on a dangerous road, it's not like he assaulted the bloke with a hammer and deliberately tried to kill him, I doubt Hamed went out thinking 'I'm going to drive like a loonie and see if I can kill someone and maybe even myself in the process'

Take Lee Hughes, the footballer, as another prime example no doubt he didn't mean to do it but he did and ending up killing one of the other people involved! Just because he didn't mean it is not an excuse to water down what Naz did!
As an aside though, in a way it is refreshing to see that even his millions could not get him off this charge, as we regularly see happen (albeit mainly with speeding footballers) in other cases involving professional sportsmen/celebrities!!
I honestly don't believe that Naz will get a hard time in nick as money really does talk and after his first two weeks or so he will no doubt be moved out to a cushty open nick!!!
Not wanting to hark back to Lee Hughes but he is the best comparison i have. When he first got sentenced everyone was banging on about him being locked up with Wolves/Blues/Cov/Villa fans and the hard time he was going to be in for but as rumours have it he has had a fairly easy time and his money has seen him through alright!!!
Naz has a now left his heavily pregnant missus with a young family without a father for 15 months (but technically could be out in 3/4 months on tag) as well as totally changing and affecting another families whole life just because he was "trying to impress" someone!! Not on in my books........
I thought Naz's barrister did a good job. But it was obvious (and in fact stated) that the judge wanted to give him a much heftier sentence.jamesmcdonnell wrote:What's the maximum penalty for driving while intoxicated?
The judge himself stated that the maximum he was able to give hamed was 24 months by law, and that had he killed the guy, it was 14 years. He also stated (In Ian's thorough report) that he was more or less forced to reduce his sentence further, as Hamed pleaded guilty.
Hamed should thank his lucky stars the guy didn't die, because it was touch and go at one point.
I wonder what the victim would have said if he was involved - 15 months jail sentence for Naz or do you want £2 million?silkov wrote:What about drink drivers who have killed people yet get off with a few months?.... to me that Hamed is being made an example of.
The worst thing that he did was flee the scene... and this could be put doen perhaps to him panicking. I don't really see the point in Jialing Hamed... it was an accident... its not like hes a danger to society. He should have just got a very long ban and be made to pay a hefty compensation bill to the victim... his being in jail is not going to benifit anyone but those gloating at his come down...
Or Tyson for rape (if he did it), or PBF for wife beating, or Lamotta for wife beatingjosh fg wrote:its amaising how quick people are to forgive diago Corrales for beating his wife or Paul Spfarder for shooting his girlfriend but get into a car crash good lord
God he looks short. A mate of mine was in a club where he was (befor he took his religion so sereousely) he turned around and him and several minders of similar stature were behind him. He couldn't stop thinking about the ant hill mob from wacky racersREAL_DEAL wrote:http://cache.gettyimages.com/xc/5758906 ... 4B24B4128C
That's another thing I hate. Like it was due to Hamed's great judgement the guy didn't pop his clogs.jamesmcdonnell wrote:What's the maximum penalty for driving while intoxicated?

That's an amazing thing to do - eveyone that I've known who has been sent down has said that they hardly get any letters and they really mean a lot when you do get mail.koomey wrote:Does anyone know the name of the prison that Hamed has been sent to?
I for one will be writing a letter to him, and although no-one can condone hat he's done I do think he needs some support...

Yeah - remember to ad a PS as follows: "In future you might bear in mind that if you are less arrogant, fewer people will think you are such a pudendum; and there will be less joy and laughter when you encounter misfortune."ciscokid wrote:That's an amazing thing to do - eveyone that I've known who has been sent down has said that they hardly get any letters and they really mean a lot when you do get mail.koomey wrote:Does anyone know the name of the prison that Hamed has been sent to?
