Fank Waren rules out PPV agreement with Eddie Hearn | POLL INCLUDED!
allegedly has angrily dismissed the idea of co-operating with Eddie Hearn to ensure the two pay-per-view cards in Britain on December 22nd do not see their respect headline fights clash.
Josh Warrington defends his IBF featherweight title against Belfast’s Carl Frampton at the Manchester Arena in the inaugural domestic BT Sport Box Office event while the heavyweight grudge rematch between Dereck Chisora and Dillian Whyte will run at the same time on Sky Sports Box Office at the O2 Arena in London.
Earlier this month, Matchroom boss Hearn had noted the difference in event curfews across London and Manchester and how this would lend itself to staggered start times.
Hearn, who had received much criticism for electing to match Whyte and Chisora on the same night as the already-announced Warrington-Frampton bill, had said that “the O2 generally has a much earlier curfew than Manchester so perhaps we go at 10:15, 10:30, and they go at 11:15, 11:30pm.”
Of course, this scenario would still mean that viewing fans would have to buy two separate pay-per-view cards on the same night, a far from perfect scenario.
Some may have chosen to do this – and pubs and clubs, especially, would be able to facilitate the screening of both cards but Warren isn’t planning to make an agreement.
While curfews and undercards may still ensure a staggered start time, no definitive deal will be in play meaning a potential clash of the main events.
Speaking to Boxing Social, Warren said “wouldn’t it have been more sensible to have staggered dates? Who cares about whether one fights on and one’s on an hour after?”
“No, we’re not, our show’s on, that’s it, we’re not playing to anybody’s fiddle, we’re on.”
“I’ve no interest in that, the only staggered thing there should have been was another date,” continued the veteran Hall of Famer before claiming that, if the roles were reversed, he would not go up against Hearn.
“I’ve got to tell you something, if he had announced for the 22nd of December I would not be putting my two guys on that night, it just would not have happened.”
“I would not allow it happen because it’s disrespectful to their earning capacity, I would not have done it.”
“All bullshit about staggering hours so fans can watch it – if he had any respect for the fans it wouldn’t be on the same night, end of story.”

This is what I agree with the most from Fank's words.“I would not allow it happen because it’s disrespectful to their earning capacity, I would not have done it.”
All four boxers are going to be earning less because of Hearn.

Nah, not onboard with this 'you must cooperate' nonsense.
Matchroom should run however they wish, as should all other promoters and the market will decide the outcome one way or another.
Football matches happen simultaneously. Burger King don't consult McDonalds over special offers etc etc.

ok so I get people may be reluctant to buy 2 ppvs however it was clear months ago that both these fights was going to happen in December so whether they are on the same night or 2 weeks apart its still going to cost the same and if people want to watch them they will pay for both. clearly Frank feels that Eddie is trying to sabotage him but he cant dictate to him when he puts his shows on but with this deal thing it will be a shame for us fans who wanted to watch both and I feel like the deal would be easy to do but frank doesn't want to do it cause he feels like he's giving in to hearn.

Frank did a similar deal, although I don't think he told Hearn about it..Boxing101101 wrote: ↑26 Nov 2018, 12:49 ok so I get people may be reluctant to buy 2 ppvs however it was clear months ago that both these fights was going to happen in December so whether they are on the same night or 2 weeks apart its still going to cost the same and if people want to watch them they will pay for both. clearly Frank feels that Eddie is trying to sabotage him but he cant dictate to him when he puts his shows on but with this deal thing it will be a shame for us fans who wanted to watch both and I feel like the deal would be easy to do but frank doesn't want to do it cause he feels like he's giving in to hearn.
Frampton vs. Donaire was announced way before Khan-Lo Greco..
Frampton also thinkg Hearn has it in for him.
The Frampton fight, which was in Belfast, took place way after Khan-Lo Greco finished.. The 40 second KO did help.. But who knows.

forgot about that but they was both non ppv and i may be wrong but i think most people only have one sky or bt so its not such a big of a deal but now its 2 ppv fights and people want to pay to watch both fights so it would be nice if they could watch both liveRuthless-RKO wrote: ↑26 Nov 2018, 12:54Frank did a similar deal, although I don't think he told Hearn about it..Boxing101101 wrote: ↑26 Nov 2018, 12:49 ok so I get people may be reluctant to buy 2 ppvs however it was clear months ago that both these fights was going to happen in December so whether they are on the same night or 2 weeks apart its still going to cost the same and if people want to watch them they will pay for both. clearly Frank feels that Eddie is trying to sabotage him but he cant dictate to him when he puts his shows on but with this deal thing it will be a shame for us fans who wanted to watch both and I feel like the deal would be easy to do but frank doesn't want to do it cause he feels like he's giving in to hearn.

I don't think many people would fork out over £40 to flick between 2 channels for the evening, at least the Frampton fight is an interesting top of the bill rather than a rehash of a previous fight

The only argument you can make for PPV on this date is if both fights are on the same card. Even then it’s still clutching at straws a bit.
Neither fight on their own is PPV worthy. Fvck the pair of them

None of the four are really that close to being PPV fighters on their own imo. Whyte is nowhere near it, Del Boy lower than him too. Frampton is the closest but his star has fallen.
Throw both fights on a card and have a couple of decent, well matched undercard fights and I’d part with my dough.
Eddie takes the absolute piss with his ppvs.

Yeh. It would still be better than most of Hearn's ppv cards..lillywhite14 wrote: ↑26 Nov 2018, 14:26It’s touch and go for me.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑26 Nov 2018, 13:44Both fights on same card is 100% PPV.lillywhite14 wrote: ↑26 Nov 2018, 13:42 The only argument you can make for PPV on this date is if both fights are on the same card. AJ vs. Whyte was PPV. - decent undercard
Clev vs. Bellew
Brook vs. Gavin - Had a decent undercard tbf

Re: Fank Waren rules out PPV agreement with Eddie Hearn
Hearn said he could have gone December 15th but he couldn’t get a sizeable arena. They’ll have sold out the 18,000 at the O2 in the next 10 days or so. Compared to say the Copper Box, their ticket sales at the O2 would be c. £600k more by going on the 22nd at the O2. They’re thinking this will offset (at least partially) the reduced PPV sales and I’m sure Sky would have preferred to go head to head against BT.ewenhay wrote: ↑26 Nov 2018, 18:11Yeah I'm with Frank on this one.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑26 Nov 2018, 09:21This is what I agree with the most from Fank's words.“I would not allow it happen because it’s disrespectful to their earning capacity, I would not have done it.”

Hearn takes after his dad when it comes to a P&L. They’ll have a good idea of the Frampton buys due to the Quigg PPV (which by all accounts wasn’t a big seller) and the viewing figures they had from Warrington on Sky.
They couldn’t really have gone January due to the April date already reserved for AJ.
I’d like to watch both PPVs but there’s no way I’m paying for both. I’ll hold fire deciding which one to get until we know more about the Chisora vs Whyte undercard but the Warrington vs Frampton card is currently favourite.

We should really do a poll to see which PPV the Boxrec faithful will favour, if any.
Personally, I’m not planning on buying either of them. Technically I’ll have saved myself 40 odd quid and will buy a decent bottle of whisky with the saving, just in time for Christmas. Yum.

Re: Fank Waren rules out PPV agreement with Eddie Hearn | POLL INCLUDED!
ill have to check the undercards, as a main event i like warr vs frampton better (not a huge fan of rematches tbh), but gotta say its not really mouthwatering , simply a good title figh4
Re: Fank Waren rules out PPV agreement with Eddie Hearn | POLL INCLUDED!
I won't be buying either of these. Nothing to do with whether I can afford it, it's more that I'm sick and tired of every half decent fight now automatically being on PPV.
Neither of these are PPV worthy in my opinion and Hearn in particular seems to have a different event on every month pretty much now.
I'll be buying Wilder v Fury but that'll be it on PPVs for a while.
I never thought I'd say this but I'm even thinking of binning allegedly. The fight schedules have really gone downhill.

I'll watch them both
more likely watch whyte-chisora 2 with the boys on the night, frampton-Warrington thenext day, F what the promoters think neither is a big ppv bout
