My two cents, Fury is a good boxer but even for those who love the sweet science can surely appreciate that in the past few years his 'not getting hit' outweighs his 'hit' too much of the time. Similar to Mayweather but obviously there are other differences which change thing dramatically. For what it matters, I have Fury winning by decision or late TKO.

He's gutted he isn't involved with the biggest HW this year IMO
We'll see how big it is. I'm expecting it to tank on ppv here.
It more than likely will but Hearn wanted to sign Fury and he said no, I think that pisses him off a bit, also I'm sure when the time was right he'd have liked to have made AJ vs Wilder and Fury whilst all three were undefeated, that can't happen now.

They definitely want Wilder to win. They fancy that fight more than the Fury fight. His style suits Joshua better.

Fury would mess with Joshua's brain more than Wilder and I think Joshua has a lot thinner skin than they would like us to believe.

Wlad is a clever guy but if you watch the gloves are off programme for Wlad v Fury 1 then you can see Fury mentally dismantling Wlad's self confidence piece by piece during that programme. It's interesting stuff.

I love Pre-Fight Fury. I've pasted that all over the boards. His shite is awesomely entertaining and yes, he fvcked up Wlad's head before and during their encounter.

I think it's harder to get inside Wilders head than Joshua.

Wilder is one of the most confident fighters I've ever talked too. It might be delusional, but his bravado is far from false. I imagine it's even heightened now.

Part of greatness is having that heightened sense of self. In the fight game, you can't go in the ring with doubts.

The only reason that they prefer Wilder is the $$$. AJ v Wilder brings much more financial potential with it.

AJ v anyone brings out the UK dough. Wilder (if he defeats Fury) brings North America into play in a much bigger way.

Furthermore, Fury’s style suits AJ just fine. Wilder’s style is far more of a threat.

On top of that, Wilder’s right hand will give AJ nightmares, while he will laugh off Fury’s babble and walk through him.

I think it's bit similar to watching MMA ground fighting. If you don't understand what you are watching it is really boring. Looks bit weird in a gay way. However if you know how the ground game works it becomes much more interesting. You know what the guys are trying to do and how do they counter each others moves. You realize how close to total disaster they both are constantly.

Fury's or any other great boxers fighting can look boring to people who don't understand what is going on. They see the other guy running away and throwing ineffective weak punches like jabs. They might be wondering why the other guy is not just bullrushing them down for KO.

People who understand what they are watching see the great footwork. The ability to stay out of range and avoid the corners. The ability to constantly punish the opponent for small mistakes and to score points with clean hits. The feints and other minor moves to keep the opponent from setting their offence. Add to this the constant danger where one mistake can end the fight in brutal KO at any moment.

No I don't think that Fury vs Wlad was boring. Neither was BJS vs Lemieux :box:

I still understand why those kind of fights are not everyone's cup of tea... even if they know what they are watching. I also love good old fashioned ass kicking contest every now and then

Good insights. It's difficult to tell just what shape Fury is in right now - I suspect the best ever, but others are questioning lack of prep and the weakening effects of drastic body transformation.

His style demands max stamina, and we saw him slowing badly against Wlad towards the end. If he gets past Wilder you'd think he should be more than ready to meet AJ. But, being Tyson Fury, nothing is a given.

Quite a few questions and contentious points will be answered shortly. Just how hard does Wilder hit? Is Wilder's resume as weak as Fury says? Was Fury's win over Klitschko just a fluke? Is Fury, inside the ring at least, really the most boring heavyweight champion we have seen? Is this going to be a Dempsey v Tunney rerun? etc

As for the argument that both are overrated, well that doesn't matter right now. Both fighters are currently standing at the top of the heavyweight hill. One is about to be pushed off.

 Excellent post.

I only take issue with your last two sentences. They are on an outcropping just below the top of the hill, where AJ currently resides. :OhYes:
