Kid Galahad vs. Brayan Mairena - 8 December 2018
Kid Galahad has had his next opponent confirmed.
The Sheffield featherweight is the mandatory challenger to Josh Warrington’s IBF world title.
The man who beat Toka Khan-Clary in a final eliminator at the TD Garden Arena in Boston back in October will box at the FlyDSA Arena in Sheffield, exclusively live on Sky Sports, as part of the supporting cast of Kell Brook’s official WBA super-welterweight title eliminator against Michael Zerafa.
Galahad will take on Nicaragua’s Brayan Mairena in a six- or eight-round contest on a card that features Liverpool’s Anthony Fowler in title action.
Jono Carroll will take on Guillaume Frenois in an official final eliminator for Tevin Farmer’s IBF super-featherweight world title and there is action for Stefy Bull-managed duo Terri Harper and Anthony Tomlinson.

Tonnes of them on Kal Yafai's record.

These fights always get slated.
I think it’s very wise to stay active with fights like these when you know you may have to wait for a mandatory shot.
Kell Brook got slagged off for rematching Carson Jones in the run up to the Shawn Porter fight. In the end he beat Porter by a very slim margin. What’s not to say that he’d have been 3-5% worse without that run out where he had to have a camp etc, compared to going into the fight after a 5 month layoff.

I think what the guy above is failing to see was it's taken Barry this long to fight someone like Toka Clary, who isn't really world level is he..

hey, im not knocking his ability, i think hes good and thats part of the reason i want better fights for him. just an utterly boing career devoid of intrigue. lets hope a fight vs warr-fram winner actually happens next year

Just a 'keep busy' fight here for Barry. Fully expect him to come out and win..
I wonder when IBF will order Warrington/Frampton to defend against Barry. Even if it's late next year.. Barry should keep well busy. Plenty of room for learning for him. Needs rounds.. Warrington/Frampton are are very good boxers and can easily dominate a 12 round fight.
Barry would need to be well prepared.
