Found it funny the commentators call the Scarpa scorecard a shambles. British cards have the most biased judging in recent times.

The judge wasn’t even Italian.

To be fair, he DID say, "Britain too - let's not pretend we don't see some home cooking too" or something similar.
IMO Germany are the worst - Ohner, Sauerland and whoever ran Sven Ottke's career - awful :brick:

Missed this earlier as I was watching the MTK show but I'm well pleased for Hughes. Game little guy and seems a right nice dude :TU: Tough as they come and a real handful for anyone. Well done

Just watched the Hughes fight back myself, fully deserved win - awesome effort to get to European title level when he essentially only uses his right defensively! Congratulations to him, some cracking left hooks and his jab was very solid :bag:

Delighted to see Hughes pick up the European title, thoroughly deserved, I had him winning 117-111, fvck knows how it was a SD, disgrace of a card, Scarpa was pish, barely let his hands go and whenever he did there was no belief in his punches, pawed with the jab and threw some half hearted right hands, Hughes for his part was excellent, clearly wanted it more, was able to outjab the taller Scarpa by leaping in with it, also leapt in with the lead left hook which had no trouble landing, obviously Hughes doesn't throw the right hand but he makes the left work very well, he's a handful for most Super Lightweights at this level, he constantly backed Scarpa up and bullied him, landed some nice lefts to the body as well

I'm a bit bemused with Scarpa, came over here and destroyed Hibbert then had 2 pitiful showings against Davies and now Hughes, you'd have thought the chance to become European champion would bring out the best of him but he's got zero desire

I wasn't that impressed with Turchi TBH, credit for getting Conquest out of there but he doesn't look anything special, I thought Conquest started off well, got to work early and didn't mind exchanging up close, Turchi improved slightly as the fight went on and worked the uppercuts well on the inside, he looks a spoiler though and quite lazy

Nice left hand for the finish though, not really sure if the final shot which Conquest took as he was down made much of a difference, either way Conquest wanted no more, maybe a broken eye socket?
