Mundine is a good actor. Looked like a pure dive to me.

Plenty of supposedly learned boxing people predicted Mundine would either win or present Horn a big challenge.Brute wrote: ↑30 Nov 2018, 18:28By "many people" you don't mean that Lutton clown from the Herald, do you? He could not pick his bum, let alone the winner of a fight.Redback Rasta wrote: ↑30 Nov 2018, 17:40 Many people who have seen a lot of boxing thought Mundine had a good chance of beating Horn. Mundine has been humble in defeat (so far) and so should his supporters be.

Great answer. Just a pity it had no relevance to what you quoted.jamamb wrote: ↑30 Nov 2018, 18:40lol you could get mundne as a 10-1 underdogRedback Rasta wrote: ↑30 Nov 2018, 17:40 Many people who have seen a lot of boxing thought Mundine had a good chance of beating Horn. Is it true this was a $60 PPV fight?

just giving some perspective to the laughable talking up like all sorts were picking mun and like this was some split opinion fight, nah, he was a big underdog, any picks for him were very fringe small opinion
Re: mundine vs horn / nov 30th
Accent on "supposedly." Mundine's recent form was bad coming into the fight.Redback Rasta wrote: ↑30 Nov 2018, 20:20Plenty of supposedly learned boxing people predicted Mundine would either win or present Horn a big challenge.Brute wrote: ↑30 Nov 2018, 18:28By "many people" you don't mean that Lutton clown from the Herald, do you? Talk to Phil Austin. He was the referee and will tell you he was gone.

I think he had had enough. If he had of managed to get up Horn would have finished him again soon enough. There was still a minute and a half left in the round and one way or another Mundine was not going to be around to hear that bell.

It doesn't take long to get beat up.when you are firing nothing back. A minute and a half can be an eternity and for Mundine it was.RKY wrote: ↑01 Dec 2018, 01:13Had enough!? A certain film had a famous quote: "The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn’t exist."
In the case of Mundine it can be re-arranged to read:
"The greatest trick Mundine ever pulled was before his final bout in convincing the paying public that his fighting ability still existed."

Re: mundine vs horn / nov 30th
Well the fight was pretty crap but then I thought it would be. I don't think to many people could still be competitive in any top athletic sport at 43. We all know it but its easy to get sucked in by the pre fight bullshit. Anyway I backed Horn and now put the winnings on Fury and my money back in my pocket so all good.
The reason I am not shitty about paying for the show is because I found it very interesting watching Liam Wilson. Not saying he is going to be a world champion but at this stage he seems a very competent and talented fighter. I don't remember who his trainer is but if he is managed properly and doesn't spend the next three years fighting Asian taxi drivers he could have a really interesting career.

i would say whats more in the style of dishonesty and distortion is talking up a shot 43 year old whose a 10-1 underdog as though it was a really competively matched fight with split opinionRedback Rasta wrote: ↑30 Nov 2018, 21:43That's what politicians do, respond to something with an irrelevant statement instead of a relevant answer.jamamb wrote: ↑30 Nov 2018, 20:38Redback Rasta wrote: ↑30 Nov 2018, 20:23

no mate, mundine was a big underdog and anyone going for him was part of tiny minority, you obviously had some slant or bias that made you want to misrepresent things
laughable end to a big mismatch with an easy to pick winner

After watching Jarrett Hurd today I reckon Horn could possibly win that one. Saw Glen Rushton was talking about Canello. Either he is stupid or he hates Jeff Horn. Or perhaps they have just learnt Mundine's trick of name dropping mega stars you never really should fight.
Re: mundine vs horn / nov 30th
I paid and we got a pretty good night of boxing
Can't believe anyone thought Kye MacKenzie was world class, the sheer joy on the face of Francis Chua was worth the money right there.
Liam Wilson is going to be a good one I think, and Youssef Dib looked good too.
I was critical of the undercard and am happy to take it all back.
As for the main event I was glad that I saw Mundine's last fight, as for Jeff we didn't really see much as to whether he can get in against the the likes of Crawford again. But I am sure he will go in against some good opponents but as for the elite.. he needs some real hand speed. Just my opinion.

Re: mundine vs horn / nov 30th
I was a little bit disappointed with Liam Wilson's performance TBH but I'm glad he eked out the win. I know it was only his 3rd pro fight. But all up he has had over 130 fights and surely he has fought a few southpaws along the way? Looking at how he went about Brent Rice I have to wonder.Grant wrote: ↑03 Dec 2018, 02:44I paid and we got a pretty good night of boxing

Anyway he finished the stronger and deserved the win, and I will watch his progress with interest.
Re: mundine vs horn / nov 30th
Horn needs to settle down ffs. He’s just posted about being a no.3 middleweight behind Canelo and golovkin as if he believes that ranking is accurate. Too much self belief is a dangerous thing.

Horn has always had lots of self belief. You don't get as far as he has without it. But what we are seeing more recently is Glenn Rushton and Horn demonstrating their savvy by feeding the media the sort of stuff they will print.
