You wish. 50 year old fat Ortiz with a stylistic disadvantage is not a p4p-caliber win. Even if AJ cleans out the division, I'd be hesitant to put him in the top 10 p4p. It's easily one of the worst divisions at the moment.

if wilder beats ortiz and fury at a weight where he could make cruiser, i think this question needs to be revisted

it seems strange to talk of him as a p4p fighter, but looking into it theres a case if (when) he beats fury

Why do people diss Ortiz? He’s a good boxer. He’d beat 90% of the top 15 HW’s today.

Had he beat Wilder? What would have happened? He’d get no credit. You’d say ‘oh, Wilder lost to a 50 year old’..

No one is ever happy.

I have AJ in my top ten. If whoever wins tonight defeats AJ, I will have that boxer in my top ten.

More importantly, no matter what you think of the HW Div, AJ is the king of the boxing mountain until defeated.

in terms of drawing power aj is no doubt the king, but after tonight imo for him to be a king rankings wise he first needs to beat tonights winner. being the king requires more seperation imo

I'd have to say canelo is the king of drawing power. Americans/American Mexicans pay more.

Usyk has a tremendous skillset, so yes. I can see him in the P4P list, but not in top 5.

Putting Wilder up as a P4P contender is just hurtful to guys who are way more proven in the smaller classes. Way more skilled, way more game to fight the best, and way better boxers.
Just centering on heavyweight boxers is prejudicial favouritism centering on the "glamour" division.
Who has the best defence?
Not Wilder
Who has the best movement?
Not Wilder
Who has the best record against champions?
Not Wilder
Who has the best combinations?
Not Wilder
Who has the best speed?
Not Wilder
Who has the most power?
Maybe Wilder

And that's it. Even beating Fury barely puts him in the top #10.
Barely.

i know kiwi, it defo seems crazy even to me at first to talk of wilder as a p4p fighter, but the more i think about it, if hes really cruiser sized and beating these guys at hw i think he should be considered.

He doesn't even weigh himself. No strategy, he just eats and trains. Leads me to believe all that camp and mental bs from fury fans is misguided. This is wilders night, going to be ugly and brutal

No he definitely isn't. Even with a win tonight he's still not Top 10.

Uh... that happens all the time in the heavyweight division; and such a thing would be impossible to occur in any other division. Like, a welterweight is never going to KO another welterweight with a 30+ pound weight advantage after making weight. That's basically impossible until fighters figure out how to rehydrate 41 pounds in one day. But KO'ing fatties doesn't make you a top p4p fighter. Julius Long stopped an opponent who had an 80-pound weight advantage. Efe Ajagba KO 1'ed someone who had a 130-pound weight advantage.

Agreed, if he beat aj I'd consider it, but still doubtful. He's a p4p puncher.
