Will Fury just be seen as a 'fart in the wind' ?

Post by guysecretan »

Klitschko described Fury as a 'fart in the wind'. Fury won against a great champion by decision and hasn't really achieved that much else. Both AJ and Wilder have defended their titles numerous times. If Fury gets beaten tonight he will probably not win against AJ either if they ever fight. It is difficult to see him having an impressive legacy whereas AJ looks like he will continue his winning streak for maybe even years to come especially if he becomes undisputed champion.

I did not think he deserved to win against Klitschko, so yeah, after Wilder stops him, he will just be talking about that fake accomplishment.

Didn't think he deserved the win against Klitschko? You mean you had it scored for Klitschko?

I think my dislike of Fury is WELL established around here, and even I had him beating Wlad like 9 rounds to 3. The fight was boring as all hell, but the result wasn't debatable.

tbf even if he loses hes still had a good career, winning british, euro, and a legit world title, but ya he will have never really had anything as far as a world title reign

though i dont know, is he done after losing to wilder? maybe he could still go on and get some decent wins, could aj-fury be an outside possibility still even if fury loses? lol not that fury would win that either though

What criteria did you use to score the bout?

I understand that scoring bouts is very subjective in nature, but what you’ve said seems utterly bizarre.

Seriously, I'm not a Fury fan, but he clearly won against Klitchko.

Wlad was only credited with connecting in 52 punches. About 4 per round.

Unless each punch was a knockdown blow, it's a bit hard to win a fight by landing 4 punches a round....even if Fury only managed to land 86.

I’ve discussed this on the forum before. Even the British commentators scored it close after 11 rounds. I scored it 6 rounds each, but after Fury rabbit punched Klitschko several times after having a point deducted for it, he should have been penalized again. I don’t remember the exact compubox stats, but I know they were similar.

The lack of punches thrown by Wlad was his undoing. I found it difficult to score this fight, but I have no second thoughts on Fury winning.

Well, Fury is again the lineal, but now completely undisputed HW champion. He beat Wilder and Klitschko to earn all the belts.

Nah. I can't stand the guy, but he's a memorable Boxer.

Somewhere between the unbridled Love from the Brit fans, and the absolute hatred of guys like me is where he'll be remembered I'd imagine.

We've definitely already seen the best of the guy though, and it wasn't all that spectacular in the scheme of things.
