Alvarez is top of the pile for me, but he will be tested again by Kovalev soon. If he wins again, I do not see how anyone, including Gvozdyk can be rated above him.

1. Alvarez
2. Gvozdyk (I felt Jack softened Stevenson up for him)
3. Kovalev (if Alvarez repeats Krusher tumbles to 7 for me)
4. Jack (I thought he nipped Stevenson)
5. Bivol
6. Browne
7. Beterbiev

I like any of these guys facing each other. I was very impressed by Gvozdyk’s counters and combos v Stevenson, as well as his ability to turn him.

If Kovalev loses to Alvarez again he should be done, especially if he gets stopped again. He could cherrypick paydays though.

Jack v Browne and Bivol v Beterbiev would be great to see, although the former would likely end up a draw and I think Bivol would control Beterbiev.

Alvarez v Gvozdyk is a great potential fight.

I'd rate Stevenson, prior to injury, above current Kovalev. Sergey is mentally finished. No way he beats anyone of note now with that abysmal stamina.

Yeah, it seems that in being Stevenson's mandatory for years that it prepared him to time a Kovalev fight perfectly. Not convinced Alvarez is the goods, but I look forward to his next opponent after the inevitable with Kovalev for a better gauge.

Not sure he beats Bivol or Beterbiev.

I think several guys would've beaten Stevenson last night.
No, Stevenson was the #1 LHW in the world. He beat Jack, and he's been tired in several of his fights. Stevenson's stamina is not very good, but even gassed, he somehow managed to beat some very good fighters with solid power. First time he's been stopped.

I say Gvozdyk is definitely the man in the division. I don't think anyone beats him, and I do think Beterbiev is his biggest threat.

I don´t think he can handle Beterbiev. But definitely wanna see Gvozdyk, Beterbiev, Alvarez, Kovalev, Bivol and Jack fight each other !!! Anthony Yarde is elite of division too, even if he fought bums IMO

Edit:
Alvarez - Kovalev 2
Gvozdyk - Jack
Beterbiev - Bivol
Yarde - Browne/Barrera (If he can defeat these guys he can be legitimately top HW with others)

Dream scenario for LHW :) :box: :box: :box:

Stevenson was the lineal Champ in the division, and had sorta become the top guy by default due to Kovalev's fall from grace, but I never really considered him the most dangerous guy throughout all these years. I always thought Kovalev could've taken him.

Bivol and Alvarez bouts seem to be the most competetive. Kovalev is under question, but he's likely to be past it. In any remaining option Gvozdyk is a favorite for sure.

I only caught the end of Stevenson-Gvodzyk because I was pacing myself for Wilder-Fury, so can't really give a good answer. What I will say though, is that for me 175 is probably the most interesting division in boxing. There's 7 fighters there (Gvodzyk, Alvarez, Kovalev, Bivol, Beterbiev, Jack and Stevenson) with whom you could make pretty much any combination of fights and not be 100% on the winner.

As I said, haven't seen the full fight from Saturday so not sure if Gvodzyk or Stevenson was on top and were also not sure on Stevenson's health either right now or going forward. But yeah, great division. And then you've got the likes of Browne, Barrera, Smith Jr and Yarde outside of them making a very strong top 10-15.

Yeah, he really did. Tell Jack not to fight scared for six rounds and then lose important ones that he needed even while Stevenson was exhausted.

I had Jack shading it, and it irritated me that he was not more aggressive late. It was a draw. Jack did not lose.

I think after the fact that Gvozdyk has sent Adonis into the hospital there will be a certain fear in fighters at 175 in facing him.

Yvon Michel will obviously never let Alvarez fight him since he will try to make him into a similar cash cow in Quebec that Stevenson was.

Bivol might be a future option since Kathy Duva is willing to negotiate with all promoters in general, but Bivol is now essentially her only fighter so it's doubtful that she will risk him to Gvozdyk, although the match up is prob 50/50.

I have no idea who is promoting Beterbiev. Does anyone know? Perhaps thats an option.

Most people forget that by beating Stevenson, Gvozdyk is now technically the lineal light heavyweight champion.

A bit off topic. How much money did these guys earned in their fights? Gvozdyk is ukrainan, Bivol and Beterbiev are russians, Alvarez is colombian. They are world champions, world elite, but all of them are relatively unknown for average boxing fans in US.
