The offer was nonsense. It would have meant fighting on BT. AJ os under contract to SKY. That would be like Harry Kane playing a game for Arsenal. It was an offer Finkel knew could not be accepted.
The offer was made in April.
Joshua ("the boss") didn't sign his new contract with Sky until August.
It was the biggest duck in boxing history.
It call it an 'offer' is giving it too much credit.
It was delivered on twitter, had a 24 hour deadline and gave absolutely no details whatsoever.
There is no way on earth Joshua's team could accept in the form it was delivered.
If Wilder's team had guarenteed Sky exclusive UK TV rights and offered hearn a hand un the promotion the fight it could well have been AJ who fought Wilder at the weekend.
But Wilder's team refused to even meet to discuss the terms. It was a bogus 'offer'.
That being said, Joshua's team should have offered Wilder %40 if they really wanted him to come to the UK for the fight, rather than the flat fee that was offered.
Both sides are to blame for the fight not happening this year.
The real winners of this saga is Fury and Warren. They both played their hands perfectly and gatecrashed the division.
