He always did before too. Fury looking soft around the middle is nothing new. I've never seen him LOOK like he was great shape, but he obviously has the stamina and endurance necessary to Box.

I thought that he held his own boxing last night. He made Fury miss the vast majority of what he threw and caught most of the rest with his guard.

Wilder gets no respect, for some valid reasons, but he is a much improved boxer.
I think I even saw a Wilder jab. True, he is not known for his boxing but I agree he boxed well for himself last night. Hats off to Fury especially for getting up in the 12th.
Fury deserves huge credit for what he has done, especially getting off the canvas and boxing on. He did not deserve the victory though.

I don't know what's more impressive; coming back from obesity and substance abuse or getting up in the 12th round. Fury and his fans have a hell of a lot to be proud about.

Fight night, his fans were drinking their pints, celebrating his showmanship and telling themselves they were watching a shutout. I get the disappointment. It was a close fight IMO. Only ask that they watch it again and ask themselves, what was Fury landing in those early rounds? I had Fury winning rounds 4 thru 7. But with the knockdowns, Wilder only had to win 2 or 3 other rounds to get a draw.

Nah. He can't box for sh*t. Never could. He has good speed, and tremendous power, but looks like an amateur when he's trying to "outbox" a guy.
I would not call him a great boxer, but he most definitely has improved and can absolutely “box for sh*t.”

Wilder is just happy that he's keeping his 0. Let's see if he has the balls to go in UK for the rematch.

Wilder is clearly smarter than that. He will go to the UK to face AJ though.

Yeah he'd be dumb not to in that case. The money would be 4 or 5 times as much for that fight in the U.K. as it would be in the U.S. I'm sure.

You're contradicting yourself. If Wilder has nothing to fear against Fury and would knock him out in a rematch then why wouldn't he fight in the UK.?

He'd get a great payday and set up a bigger payday with Joshua if he won as the exposure in the UK by beating Fury would be invaluable for him

Like I said in the other thread, Wilder would need four to five KDs to get a close decision in the UK. Same goes v AJ but the rewards are greater and AJ is easier to hit.

As Fury had the balls to go in Germany and then in US to face the champions out there, then Wilder must prove he's a true champion and not a pampered champion by the refs in his homecountry and accept Fury's rematch in UK.

Fury wasn't afraid or worry about being screwed when he went in Germany and US. That's why King Fury is the real champ, the people's champion! :TU:

Fury received very fair treatment in both places. Wilder would not receive the same fairness in the UK. That is crystal clear.

I agree that Fury has shown great confidence in his abilities to go to Germany and the US, but AJ is clearly recognized as the king of the HW division, and rightly so.

Fury proved he's the true champion of the WORLD because he fights anywhere in this WORLD! If it would be a worthy hw champion in the North Sentinel Island, King Fury would fight right there! :OhYes:

Willingness to fight a dangerous opponent in his own backyard is certainly admirable, but you gotta win to be the TRUE Champion.

He absolutely did not. Rounds 1 thru 4 all could've went either way. You don't win rounds by clowning around. You can think it all you want, but it'll never be the case.

EFFECTIVE AGGRESSION, CLEAN PUNCHING is what wins rounds. Hands behind your back, Hands in the air, Tongue wagging. That scores you jack and sh*t.

I wonder if that was the best Fury we will see, I hope not. Tyson stands at a crossroads now. Hopefully his love of boxing will keep him focused enough to drive on forwards. Sure the going is going to get even tougher, and he'll be reminded of that as he looks in the mirror for the next few days, but the alternative is no alternative.

Enormous credit to both fighters for a brilliant fight, especially to Fury for getting up from that. Shades of Ali v Frazier 1.

Styles make fights, and that was a classic. Wilder too showed great heart, many fighters would have got totally dispirited by the way things were going midway. He did admit that Fury probably got to him prefight. As a result he ended up wanting to land the bomb just a bit too much for most of the fight.

The heavyweight picture just got a lot clearer after Saturday. Joshua v Fury would make it even clearer.

Who knows? Maybe. His reputation is heavily questoned now. So losing a title can be substituted well with a good pay-day.
