Both got into title contention with devastating knockouts (Cooney over Norton, Ruddock over Dokes).

Ruddock KO 8 in a slugfest. Ruddock took Tyson's best and didnt look close in being stopped in their 2nd bout despite suffering a broken jaw early on.

Of course Cooney has a chance as he can whack just as hard himself, but Ruddock edges this out in a spectacular fight.

Interesting matchup. Very similar fighters as both rose up the ranks fighting washed-up contenders and both gained acclaim for very big left hooks. Funny as I don't see Cooney lasting the distance vs Tyson as Razor did, but I don't see Ruddock lasting against Holmes as long as Gerry did.

Whoever lands the left hook first wins. Pick'em fight.
