Fury and Wilder rematch. What's the result this time?
Re: Fury and Wilder rematch. What's the result this time?
I'd rather see Joshua v Fury than a rematch. Biggest fight in decades in this country.
Re: Fury and Wilder rematch. What's the result this time?
ya interesting that if anything i see maybe even more going ffor wilder, its hardly as though fury had been in good fightss recently to prepare him for the highest level . wilder scored both kds late and maybe fury would be better late now that hes back in the swing and could perhaps come in fitter even? in the last 3 years hed faced seferi and pianeta offering no resistence
ya and wilder at 33 and 10 years pro really has shown not much tecnicaly improvement, i wouldnt have much confidence that suddenly hell change. wilder is talking like he thinks he desrved it any way and did enough
i thought for sure wilder was going to win the fight but imo he was fortunate to get a draw. im not sure id pick him again though i feel in the us he will continue getting his best case scenario judging that hes gotten vs fury, ortiz, washington , szpilka, eetc

right. but fury should be a bit more match fit and sharp for a rematch, but anything goes! wilder is seriously dangerous!Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑04 Dec 2018, 08:00 It's still the same.. 50/50..
Fury can win on points and Wilder can knock Fury down and we've seen that Wilder can catch Fury.. Anything goes.

Wilder getting into late night shows
Re: Fury and Wilder rematch. What's the result this time?
lol great stuff ,'what type of result is a draw' , 'fury won hands down'
Re: Fury and Wilder rematch. What's the result this time?
I dunno Ricky. Wilder hasn't improved at all in years. Not his technique, punch variation, combinations or ring IQ.RKY wrote: ↑04 Dec 2018, 10:04 Wilder KO imo. Having been in with Fury i think it gives him a big advantage to work on his repertoire of punches. Fury constantly dipped low or off to his right, yet Wilder tried little in the way of uppercuts or left hooks i felt were there to land. In fairness to Wilder he did eventually land a huge right, but by r12 there wasn't as much power in his shots, he was pretty gassed.
He relies on landing the big right hand. We just watched him wail it for 12 rounds amd land it twice. No adjustment to what Fury was doing, no trying something different, nothing.
If anyone is going to learn from that fight, I think it will be Fury.
Re: Fury and Wilder rematch. What's the result this time?
lol rky why would wilder need new punches when hes got such a wildly unpredictable and unorthidoxly skilled style like youve said? not like he predicatably throws the same limited thing over and over is itRKY wrote: ↑04 Dec 2018, 10:04 Wilder KO imo. i dunno, hes 33, going on 11 year pro, and has had the same limited output since the ams, i dont see it changing
funny anyone can say his approach is unpredictable or really hard to read, hes got one of the most limited predictable outputs for a top level fighter. a ko coming from nowhere from the power doesnt mean his actual style is so hard to get a read on
Re: Fury and Wilder rematch. What's the result this time?
He took Ortiz out in the end with the uppercut. It's not rocket science - i actually think his corner should be questioned. And if he's so predictable, how did he score 2 big knockdowns? If you know what a guy is going to do - but can't stop him from doing it, that's a pretty formidable opponent.
Re: Fury and Wilder rematch. What's the result this time?
hes got a fast and hard right hand, but his way of boxing isnt unpredictable at all . we all know its going to be that right hand. same range, same punch, virtually no combo variation or inside game. its never a huge question of how hes going to fight and what hes looking for. one of the most limited outputs of a top fighter, effective in what he does but lol at this dressing him up as wildly unpredictable with this awkward skill opponents just cant figure out
ortiz was already done pretty much by that point, it was like wilder was pushing him off
maybe youve now come to see the limits to his style more clearly. usually the power bails him out in the end but it caught up to him a bit here

Re: Fury and Wilder rematch. What's the result this time?
Other than Ortiz, (who is now shot), which top level heavies actually do have an inside game? Wilder has an incredible range that's gained him success in every fight, including the Fury fight. Working on his left hand in camp is hardly rocket science, even if he is 33. What age was Marquez when he trained specifically for that shot he ktfo Pac with? Dipping low and timing Pacs lunging body jab with JMMs overhand right. This is the kind of analysis Wilders team should be doing. By feinting the right they might sucker Fury into dipping low to Wilders left, allowing Wilder to setup his left hook. Just my 2cents, but we all know Wilder can seriously hurt Fury - he just needs to work on a more creative approach to try and get the big shots home earlier when he retains greater power.
Re: Fury and Wilder rematch. What's the result this time?
povetkin, ajs hurt several opponents with shoter shots, ortiz like you say, whyte, miller, etc...even fury showed some good inside work earlier on, he basically battered chisora the first time and stopped cunningham up close
maybe he will make those changes but i wouldnt have confidrnce in it. as it stands hes got one of the sports most limited and predictable outputs for a top fighter, but his huge power and good speed usually find the opponent eventuslly and for good in the end, although not this time
who knows, the power means he may well still manage to ko fury in a rematch even wo changes

Re: Fury and Wilder rematch. What's the result this time?
I'm not convinced Wilder can do much to improve. He carries that punch which he throws with abandon, his fitness and speed do well for him. If anything, trying to alter/improve his game will just stifle his style.
Fury has the skills built into his game and therefore has room to adjust his approach to the fight, given what he'll have learned in the first encounter.
Fury should win a rematch, though the puncher's chance is greater with Wilder than most punchers.

His display v the hapless Kaufmann won't have sent many shockwaves through the division.

Kauffman hadn't been stopped before (or has he?), he showed a bit of heart in there, not staying down.. Also, Ortiz was toying with him at points. He was never hurt in there. He dropped him a few times too.
He might have lost all the rounds, but he earned his paycheck.
Re: Fury and Wilder rematch. What's the result this time?
KO defeat to Tony Grano (?) In 2009. And lost a decision to Mansour who might be even older than Ortiz. He's woeful opposition.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑05 Dec 2018, 05:14Kauffman hadn't been stopped before (or has he?), he showed a bit of heart in there, not staying down.. A rematch is still very intriguing. It’s not far off 50/50 with Wilders equaliser of a right hand. I’d favour Fury but Wilder certainly has a great chance.
We’re already starting to see comments here about Fury winning by a mile on Saturday. It’s similar to how after the Wlad fight it started becoming described as ‘schooling’, ‘shutout’ etc when it clearly wasn’t. His fanatics are as warped as anyone else’s!
A rematch has to happen 100%

Fury UD. Everybody agreed that he took the fight too early and should continue to regain form and improve over the next few months. I've always liked AJ but his fans are clutching at scores here predicting a stoppage in Wilder's favour. He was comprehensively outboxed by a ring-rusty fat Fury who was supposed to get banged out already. He's only going to get sharper. Throw in that the fight should be in the UK this time and you can forget the iffy scoring as well.
Re: Fury and Wilder rematch. What's the result this time?
Fury could well win by a wide margin he could also be sparked out at any moment in the fight. Neither would be a shock.clopixolacuphase wrote: ↑05 Dec 2018, 05:51 Fury UD. I agree however this a prediction thread. That's my prediction and the reasoning's pretty sound.samwbr wrote: ↑05 Dec 2018, 05:59Fury could well win by a wide margin he could also be sparked out at any moment in the fight. Edit: also I know it should be "clutching at straws" rather than "clutching at scores" but it's kind of a funny unintentional Freudian slip.

Wilder to me knows he's been exposed to the world because before that nobody took an interest on a world wide scale despite being a world champion, he reminds me of Jeff lacy massive hype exposed and was never the same, I feel this will happen to wilder in rematch he will lose comfortably, he's always going to have a punchers chance but that aurora about him won't be same again

I prefer Fury out of the 3. Clutching straws predicting a Wilder knockout...clutching straws? Are you for real? Wilder was shite Saturday, I think he’s the bottom of the 3 and could quite well lose to others in the division ( Whyte could beat him, as could Povetkin, 200 year old Ortiz nearly beat him, hell if Joyce can withstand the power he’d beat him ) but did you not see him drop Fury twice Saturday night? Fury got up at 9.8 seconds into the ten count. If anything in this shows it’s far from clutching at straws to suggest ( I’m not predicting, I predict Fury beats him in a rematch ) Wilder can win by knockout! To me it shows he can knock him out.clopixolacuphase wrote: ↑05 Dec 2018, 05:51 Fury UD. Fury was possibly fitter than he’s ever been Saturday night. He actually looked leaner two weeks before the fight than he did on fight night. I think, like Bunce suggested, that he lost too much weight so put a bit back on before fight night.
Re: Fury and Wilder rematch. What's the result this time?
I'm not saying he couldn't, Lilli. I'm saying that he didn't. He almost did, but he didn't. And if he didn't this time, I don't think he'll do it next time either.lillywhite14 wrote: ↑05 Dec 2018, 06:31I prefer Fury out of the 3.
