Miller would be a great option. Big, tough guy that will come forward and try to use his size. We can finally end the whole "Usyk is too small" thing after he boxes Miller's head off.

People talk him up so much that I say we throw him in deep water and see if he can swim. A bonafide giant heavy hitter. Someone like Miller, but we all know he's not that good. Maybe Ortiz.

Straight to AJ if you ask me. Wilder and Fury will probably rematch now and Usyk probably beats both of them anyway. There are no better challengers.

Ortiz would die if he had to face Usyk. That stamina will not hold up against a fast, athletic mover with a granite chin like Usyk.

lacky, what if gliwacki beats briedis? How does it werk then since usyk 10-2 glow
I don't think Usyk could become the best cruiserweight "by a mile" by virtue of ifs, buts, candies, and nuts. Maybe if he rematched Briedis and beat him 12-0 or KO'ed him in round 3 or something. Managing that close a decision win pretty much prohibits being the "best by a mile."

We should have a debate about whether Tyson Fury is the best heavyweight "by a mile," or whether Deontay Wilder is the best heavyweight "by a mile." Is Saul Alvarez the best middleweight "by a mile," or is Golovkin the best middleweight "by a mile"? That seems like the sort of distinction that you earn when you beat your competition by a lot, not by a little bit.

Why are you even asking that? Usyk beat Briedis by MD, so the actual fact is that he's the best CW by a small margin. Why do you have a need to fantasize scenarios where he's better than that? What if Usyk lost a rematch to Glowacki? Then maybe he wouldn't be the best CW at all. What if Usyk lost a rematch to Briedis in dominant fashion? Then he wouldn't be the best CW at all. In this thread, we're discussing how good Usyk is, not how good he would be in a variety of hypotheticals, especially hypotheticals cherrypicked so that you can get the gratification of visualizing him being good. In fact, you don't even need a thread or an audience to imagine hypothetical scenarios in which Usyk climbs the ranks.

Briedis may have held Usyk to an MD but he'll be 34 in a month and he hasn't looked good lately. Most evidence suggests Usyk would beat him more decisively in a rematch.

True.

Has a Hunter rematch been mentioned yet?

It would sell well over there. Actually, it would do well in Brooklyn, I think.

That MD was sh!tty anyway, cause the fight wasn't that close despite being competetive.

Ortiz and Povetkin are good options too. Those fights are easy to make as well, cause Hearn is in contact with all of them including Usyk. There even was some talk about Povetkin fighting next in the UK again.

Joyce / Breazeale / Negron

Usyk is no doubt FOTY 2018. He is no doubt top 5 P4P. But, the Ukrainian does not leap tall buildings and he is not bullet proof. :shame:

Usyk is so much slicker and faster than those two. I think he'd just frustrate them. Both of them are of course very dangerous. I think he'd beat Joshua too, who's even more dangerous Tyson Fury, now there's something i don't know!

Silly? Adamek was the 175 & 195 pound champion. It's fair comparison. How quick "fans" forget and buy into the same old bullshit promoters throw out there.

He's better than that. Adamek couldn't clean out a weaker cruiserweight division than Usyk just left. Huck really beat a better Povetkin than the one who's still a threat to the top guys now. I think Usyk is better than that. I don't know if he beats the top 3 yet, but he beats everyone else as long as he doesn't jump straight in at the deep end.

I remember Adamek's prime very well and he was nowhere near as good as Usyk.

Yes Silly...Adamek was good but not nearly what Usyk is. I don't ever listen to or regurgitate what others say, most of all promoters.

You are completely clueless if you believe this. Usyk is significantly better than Adamek ever was.
