Re: Dillian Whyte V Deontay Wilder
Wilder IMO. Fury has the best defence in the division and still got dropped twice and was nearly stopped. Unless you have the power to put Wilder away, which in my opinion Whyte doesn't, then it's a fight in which you have to be defensively switched on at all times. Whyte's defence is still lacking - his feet are messy and he likes a tear up. Despite the Browne KO, I'm not sure that he hits hard enough to finish Wilder. He'd make it interesting though.
Re: Dillian Whyte V Deontay Wilder
Dillion is capable of setting up a good shot. But Wilder has that off switch
I’d like to see Whyte vs Ortiz first.

Whyte vs. Ortiz. See how Whyte does.
Wilder would switch Whyte’s lights off.

Re: Dillian Whyte V Deontay Wilder
That would be disappointing. His next fight should be fury or aj. I'd also accept usyk. On the other hand whyte has earned a shot at the odd man out of the three if he beats chisora. So I should retract that.
Re: Dillian Whyte V Deontay Wilder
Yeah he really has. In an era where most guys just beat up on Journeyman or Fringe types until they get their shot Whyte has actually EARNED his shot by beating credible guys. I don't think he has any kinda real shot at any of the Big 3, but he's earned his chance to try to prove me wrong anyhow.Onetimeonly wrote: ↑04 Dec 2018, 19:23 That would be disappointing. Whyte can beat him. Imagine if he did?
How would Fury’s fanatics handle that one?

Re: Dillian Whyte V Deontay Wilder
No offense to Whyte, but he's still a level or two below the top--- in all seriousness and reality. I wasn't impressed with the Parker fight not one damn bit. The Browne fight was a joke. And he went the distance with Helenius, when he's capable of being stopped.
I don't believe it'll happen, but Wilder would ice him in about 5-6 rounds. However, I do think that since Hearn wants AJ/Wilder there's a good possibility that in the spring it may just be Fury vs Whyte for the WBC Silver title to secure Fury's #1 contender status.
Whyte wouldn't be able to do a thing with Fury either. Losing a wide unaminous decision, if not a late round stoppage--- because if Parker practically had Whyte going in the 12th I can only imagine the accumulation of punches from a 245-250 pound Fury.

Fury couldn’t really hurt Wilder who is a knockout waiting to happen. He won’t be stopping Whyte.HomicideHenry wrote: ↑04 Dec 2018, 20:52 No offense to Whyte, but he's still a level or two below the top--- in all seriousness and reality. Re: Dillian Whyte V Deontay Wilder
There’s a popular theory being strongly rumoured relating to the reasons why ‘The Bronze Bomber’ decided to face Tyson Fury instead of Dillian Whyte, even though ‘The Body Snatcher’ was offering a better payday to Deontay Wilder in comparison to ‘The Gypsy King’... and it relates to the age-old risk versus return ratio.
A lot of Americans believed that Tyson Fury’s days of performaning as an elite-level heavyweight were finished, whereas Dillian Whyte’s career direction was on the ascendancy.
I can’t help thinking that Team Wilder feel fortunate to escape with Deontay’s unbeaten record remaining intact, especially based on their immediate post-fight (pre-official scorecard announcement) reactions.
My gut feeling is that Wilder will try to avoid facing Fury and Whyte until after he’s received a mega-money payday to face Anthony Joshua.
The WBC will inevitably collude with Team Wilder by “forcing” (or really assisting) Deontay to engage in meaningless mandatory title defences against the likes of Breazeale... at least until the bout against AJ can be made.

Lol, no shit. Chooses almost stopped fury in the second round of their first fight. Amazing heart on Tyson and he'd be a very sound favorite but it's hard to imagine him stopping whyte or making it the full distance unscathed.lillywhite14 wrote: ↑04 Dec 2018, 21:03Fury couldn’t really hurt Wilder who is a knockout waiting to happen. Re: Dillian Whyte V Deontay Wilder
Seriously, Wilder has a puncher's chance against all of the top guys. He's such a horrible boxer, though. Without a KO, he'd lose a decision to most anyone. Hell, he was losing to Szpilka.
I'd say Whyte by KO. If Whyte punches himself out, though, he's done.

Re: Dillian Whyte V Deontay Wilder
Fury does have pop in his punches despite what people think. You don't make a guy like Chisora QUIT between rounds if he isn't hurting you. He had Wilder hurt on a few occasions, but Fury didn't press the issue--- he prefers to be a stylist. He can hit. People forget that after the 12th round knockdown Fury had Wilder hurt against the ropes. It can't really be held against Fury either because anytime Fury landed those 1-2's on Wilder, Deontay stayed the hell back. You can't knock a man out really if he's staying away.
Re: Dillian Whyte V Deontay Wilder
Wilder will KTFO Whyte. Dillian has already been KOed, I don't see, how after that he will take the shot of the division's best puncher. Yeah, Wilder can have early troubles, but Whyte isn't a type of fighter to avoid Wilder's windmill for too long.

Re: Dillian Whyte V Deontay Wilder
I have Whyte in this all though Wilder has improved with his last two fights with Ortiz and Fury.
Re: Dillian Whyte V Deontay Wilder
I'm a big fan of Dillian Whyte, I love his attitude, he isn't afraid to take big risks and he keeps winning. If there were any justice Wilder would be forced to defend against him because the WBC would have called their mandatory by now and their mandatory would be Whyte not Breazeale.
Despite my admiration for him I do think he would come up short against Wilder, Joshua or Fury. Briefly in the Helenius fight before Helenius retreated into his shell, I felt he hurt Dill and had him on rubber legs. Granted it was early in the fight (2nd round?) and Whyte went on to dominate, but I think what that Wilder right hand might have done to him and I shudder.
He has more than earned his shot though and I would never say that he has no chance ... 60/40 maybe.

Re: Dillian Whyte V Deontay Wilder
whyte is too sloppy. if he had some unreal power or something or a freak chin maybe he could do it, but hes open and imo wilder would defo start effecting him before he could do the same to wilder
maybe i could see something like, wilder drops whyte once or twice, whyte battles back a bit to rock wilder, but then whyte gets badly hurt and dropped again. basically, i think whyte could have a good moment or two but he simply wouldnt be able to get through it before wilder takes him out

Whyte would absolutely dismantle the bronze bomber. He'd bust him up terribly with his jab & put him away in under 6 after dropping him multiple times. Career threathening hiding for wilder. Would love to see it!

Dillian Whyte improved heavily in the last years. He still is. He will brook up chisora. Hopefully he will get a title shot afterwards. Wilder he would destroy and end that corrupt farce of a title "reign". Against Joshua i see a war. 50/50!

Wilder's fabricated run is over anyways, he lost against fury. fury, joshua, whyte, miller, ortiz would all beat him again.

I think Wilder wins this by KO in the early to mid rounds. Whyte isn't clever enough to go deep into a fight with Wilder IMO.

Re: Dillian Whyte V Deontay Wilder
Whyte got a gift v Parker. A headbutt gets scored a KD against Parker, Whyte gets away with fouling throughout, and Parker STILL won that fight, imo.
I appreciate Whyte’s gameness but he has NO chance against Wilder, Fury or AJ, besides landing a wing with a prayer.
