But he lost those two fights.
Re: Kell Brook vs. Michael Zerafa - 8 December 2018
hardly 'khan style' losses were they?
Re: Kell Brook vs. Michael Zerafa - 8 December 2018
what would those fights really do for his legacy though? hard to do much considering the most memorable thing is how his eyes got crushed
hes had way too many fights that are just needlessly bad or totally uninteresting. why not more solid b level guys at least, like a peterson, etc?
and how exactly would we rate his top 4-5 wins?
porter (good win for sure), but then wtf what? brook defo a quite talented guy but the carreer has not been too fun to follow. he wouldve done well being signed to haymon in the usa, with a full roster of notable welters to fight.

Re: Kell Brook vs. Michael Zerafa - 8 December 2018
Like most of Brook's career this fight is trash, he spends far too long out the ring, the Rabchenko fight was meant to be the rust shedder then on to a big fight, if the Khan fight didn't come next then why fcvking Michael Zerafa??
Incredible when you think Brook turned pro in 2004, its bollocks, I thought he looked great blasting out Rabchenko, he's proved his whole career more or less that he'll destroy the lower guys, barring maybe the first Carson Jones fight, boxers like Zerafa, Rabchenko, Bizier, Dan, Gavin are comfortably swept aside no matter how long Brook's been out beforehand
I thought Quillin killed Zerafa in their fight, massive KO, that's all ive seen of Zerafa, looking at his record I noticed he picked up the Commonwealth title earlier in the year
Brook by KO within 3

Terrible card! Can't get excited for it at all. Typical bullshít Sky Sports offering we've had to become accustomed to. Their shows this year have been fuckin woeful!

No interest in this crap, hope he loses and then we won't have to hear him and Khan bitching with each other over a fight that will never happen and is 5 years too late.

Why not Crawford? Be a better challenge than Khan. I would be on the phone with Team Crawford to ace out Khan on that ass beating.
Re: Kell Brook vs. Michael Zerafa - 8 December 2018
If it is a straight race between Khan and Brook to get that fight then as things stand Khan gets it all day long.ironbeard wrote: ↑05 Dec 2018, 22:50Why not Crawford? Be a better challenge than Khan. I would be on the phone with Team Crawford to ace out Khan on that ass beating.
Re: Kell Brook vs. Michael Zerafa - 8 December 2018
Not as great a disparity as a few years ago. Brook has been in the American eye v 3G and Spence, as well as beating Porter.MF DOOM wrote: ↑06 Dec 2018, 10:20If it is a straight race between Khan and Brook to get that fight then as things stand Khan gets it all day long.
Khan gets it IF he wants it. I doubt that Amir wants to step up to the plate v Crawford.
Brook, on the other hand, would take it quick I think, and it would be the substantially bigger challenge for Crawford, imo.
Re: Kell Brook vs. Michael Zerafa - 8 December 2018
Khan means more over there and they like him, which is why he keeps getting brought back over for decent fights. Khan would take Crawford, absolutely nothing in his career suggests otherwise. He is a bigger name worldwide.ironbeard wrote: ↑06 Dec 2018, 10:31Not as great a disparity as a few years ago. Brook has been in the American eye v 3G and Spence, as well as beating Porter.

Will he? If the reports are true I guess we are about to find out.MF DOOM wrote: ↑06 Dec 2018, 10:40Khan means more over there and they like him, which is why he keeps getting brought back over for decent fights. I would prefer the Brook fight. It is a better measure v Spence’s performance against Brook. Making Khan do the chicken dance is entertaining but proves nothing, unless your goal is a fight with Danny.
Khan would raise Crawford’s profile though.
Re: Kell Brook vs. Michael Zerafa - 8 December 2018
Yeah, it is probably being talked about with getting Crawford a signature win in mind. I’d prefer Brook-Khan, but only if it was the next one for both fighters. At this point they should both be able to expose the vulnerabilities each of them has. People might go postal if Khan gets and takes Crawford yet you can’t knock Khan for it.
Kell’s run of fights after winning the IBF badly let him down IMO. It reminded me of Jermain Taylor as any momentum he had just dissipated, although in mitigation he did suffer that machete attack.
I like both fighters so I hope that Crawford goes elsewhere to clear the path. Although I imagine they would maybe try to squeeze a semi-final style PPV where both headline a show before fighting each other. In that scenario it wouldn’t surprise me if one or both of them lost.

Those fights were in the UK. Not really US exposure. And for those 2 fuights, he probably known for getting his eyes smashed. The Porter fight was poor too, ratings were poor.ironbeard wrote: ↑06 Dec 2018, 10:31Not as great a disparity as a few years ago. Khan is a name in USA.. He's well known there. His popularity in the US, is probably just behind Lennox Lewis, if we're talking about Brits.
One of the best known Brits in the USA..
Arum probably wants a well recognised name on Crawford's resume. Kinda like how Bivol fought Pascal, for that same reason.

Re: Kell Brook vs. Michael Zerafa - 8 December 2018
Brook is piiissed!
Brook is clearly losing patience with Khan, who is now talking about fighting Terence Crawford in early 2019, and possibly even Hearn who has failed to negotiate the domestic bust-up British boxing fans want to see.
"Amir Khan is a conman, they should you should call him Amir Con.
He has mugged you off Eddie” charged the former world champion” said Brook.
"I thought this fight was nailed on," lamented the South Yorkshireman, referring to his meeting with Khan ringside at the last Tony Bellew.
He recalled how Khan had looked him in the eyes and said: 'We will fight next.'
Brook commented: “What can I do? Everybody knows that is him that is running off."
He directed Hearn to: "sort it out."
The promoter responded: "If you want my opinion there is only one fight for Amir Khan. And that is what I have told him. And that is to fight you and nobody else."

Brook Khan holds 0 interest to me nowadays rather watch two drunks brawling in the town
Re: Kell Brook vs. Michael Zerafa - 8 December 2018
Both the 3G and Spence fights were carried in the US. However, there is no doubt that Khan is more popular than Brook.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑06 Dec 2018, 11:24Those fights were in the UK. I am just saying that IF Khan passes, AND Khan v Brook cannot be made, Brook should pursue the Crawford fight. It would be a tougher challenge for Crawford, and be a good comparison fight to Spence.
That is all.
Just say “NO” to Collazo!

I agree. Tough test for sure for Crawford. We saw what he did to Horn who was a huge WW too. Brook is obviously a better boxer than Horn though.?ironbeard wrote: ↑06 Dec 2018, 13:32Both the 3G and Spence fights were carried in the US.
