The Count ... Did Wilder put Fury down for 10 ?
The final knockdown Wilder put on Fury,
Tyson looked like he was out.
Was it a long count or was there some b.s going on ?
Looked to me Fury made it.

You're not the first one to say the count may have been long. Using this video I just timed it with my stopwatch. I clocked 10.88 seconds between the time his back hit the canvas and the time he stood to his feet. Then another 10.39 seconds delay allowed by the ref for Fury to walk around before waving Wilder in to resume the fight. Try it yourself with your stopwatch:

its one of wilders many excuses, he says 9 out of 10 refs wouldve immediately stopped it too
fury clearly beats refs actual count and thats what matters and what fighters follow. the check done is standard practice these days. wilder got more extra time vs ortiz

Is it ok if I count from 1 to 10 out loud and do it like that it's always worked for me ?Best Coast wrote: ↑07 Dec 2018, 03:10 You're not the first one to say the count may have been long. Hasn’t this ground been covered thoroughly on here? The ref did his job well. Fury made it to his feet and continued, nearly miraculously.
I say this as a person who scored the fight for Wilder by comfortable margin, although I respect the judges decision in this case, without gnashing of teeth and lamentations.

Re: The Count ... Did Wilder put Fury down for 10 ?
It’s been 6 days and debated about by many.
A ref’s 10 count is exactly what it is. It’s not just 10 straight seconds.
It’s the referee making a 10 count. He didn’t do it fast or slow. And it’s not the referee who starts the count. It’s the unofficial ref outsyd the ring. Also, I don’t think it’s from ‘when the downed opponents just hits the floor’..

If Wilder thought the count was long and Fury was as hurt as he said, why didn't he take it out of the judges hands after that?
Re: The Count ... Did Wilder put Fury down for 10 ?
The referee's count never reached 10 so no

He could be down for a minute and if the ref only counts to 9 he beat the count.
Re: The Count ... Did Wilder put Fury down for 10 ?
It was clear to me, a Wilder fan, that Fury watched the ref's instructions and could have clearly gotten up before 10 seconds expired on the clock. This is a non-issue and I'm sick of all the excuses.

Just for the tech record. I'ts all about the ref's count of ten.....NOT ten seconds.
Seconds are the goal....but they aint the rule.

I was explaining this to my wife at the fight. She kept saying it had to of been 10 seconds.
It doesn't matter if it was 2 seconds or 30 seconds. A 10 COUNT must be reached

It feels like this debate is recycled roughly every generation or so.
Fury beat the count, that's all he needed to do.
It doesn't matter if he was on the floor for 9.6 secs, 10.9 secs or 1h 43m, he beat the ref's count.

Re: The Count ... Did Wilder put Fury down for 10 ?
In all fairness if it took the ref an hour and 43 minutes to reach a 10 count I'm pretty sure people would be perfectly justified in raising all kinds of hellSyntax Error wrote: ↑08 Dec 2018, 12:32 It feels like this debate is recycled roughly every generation or so.

Is there anyone out there who still thinks that the ref did not get it right?
Besides DuranaruD I mean.

Re: The Count ... Did Wilder put Fury down for 10 ?
The refs could not of done a better job.
But if any ref would of stopped the fight the way Fury went down and looked going down I doubt too many would of complained
Re: The Count ... Did Wilder put Fury down for 10 ?
The ref was like one second off! That's as accurate as you're gonna get. Plus Fury isn't counting in his head 1 to 10. He's listening to the ref. And judging by how he got up easily he was just taking the full 10 seconds. If he really wanted he probably could of got up at 7 or 8 seconds. But I think he wanted to create that wow factor like "you thought I was totally out? No bitc* im completely fine"
