I thought the broadcast team was making the fight out to be much closer than it was. Pedraza was throwing a lot but landing nothing.

by the way andre wards card deserves mention for just being tremendously bad

116-111 means presumably, with how the last 2 ended, that he had it a 1 point fight going into the championship rounds

ya, basically for me, it was a pitty patt fight with little notable offense, but pretty much every round loma had the better of what there was. i found it really hard to give pedraza rounds

wards card was just awful, he presumably had it a 1 point fight after 10, honestly, dont want to be that guy, but from what i see and read from ward he is defo biased against soviet boxers

doesnt really press with punches much in the 12th when pedraze looked done at the end of the round before, then finishes running off the last 20 seconds?

wtf
Maybe he was just being cautious with shoulder?

i guess

and he was obviously way ahead and going to win, so maybe its just me being selfish as a boxing fan wanting a big ending after much slow action. just felt that after that 11th round the fight was there for him to take with a bang and he decided to go out with a sigh

it reminded me of an early fight vs that thai opponent, where several times loma looked like he could finish, but then he would decide to start dancing around instead.

with the type of showing tonight, im wondering, does he step it up if someone gets in his face and rough like salido again? what if tank davis or berchelt just comes at him throwing?

Pedraza's a good fighter, and put up a solid effort, but Loma is just too damn good.

Don't know if Loma would be able to continue having success moving up in weight any further, but he's still a beast at Lightweight.

I think the 119-107 scorecard was more like it, but 117-109 is understandable too. Andre Ward was being overly generous to Pedraza.

Weird. Crawford doesn't have the resume. Lomachenko's resume is superior.
Not arguing. If people see Loma or Usyk or Canelo, all good. Crawford dominates.
Fair enough. I just think Usyk should be consensus at this point, but I've seen too many have him at #5. Just travesty to me. I don't mind Canelo either because he's officially 1-0-1 against his p4p contemporary.
Usyk is right there. Crawford needs to get serious work done in 2019.

imo his card reeked of some sort of bias or something . just wayyyyy too generous to pedraza, he only had it a 1 point fight into the 11th. hes very biased against soviet boxers in general imo, maybe due to all the hate hes gotten from soviet fan boys lol. he was saying stuff recently like usyk was a hype job who bellew was going to beat up

Dogboe is what? 23? He’s had a busy year. Won the Interim belt, then KO’d the full champion, had a nice 1st round KO win in his first defence.. then unfortunately came up against a tree. Not a bad year. Shame he couldn’t finish on a high.

He’ll come back from this.

Those punch stats definitely jibe with my viewing of the fight. I remember halfway in Ward was saying he had it even and it just boggled my mind. I hadn't given Pedraza a single round.

Loma provided a near-shotout performance. It was really hard to score something for Pedraza. Everything as expected, but actually I expected KO, however, Loma was close to stopping Jose, who was just enough gutsy to survive.

Interesting fact mentioned during the fight. Loma's father pulled him out of boxing (very young age) for four years to take classic dance lessons to create the amazing footwork we see today.

It was odd I just don't see his possible connection to either fighter or the promotion.

As far as I know, those were traditional Ukrainian dances.

Yes that's what they said. I don't follow Loma that much and never heard that before. Very interesting.

Can anyone explain how you arrive at a 119-107 scorecard? 107 means you lost 11 rounds and had a 10-8 against you in the other. Surely that would make Loma 120?

pedraza was knocked down twice, so the 11th was 10-7

11-1 with all 10-9s is 119-109

then take away 2 points from the 109 for the knockdowns

= 119-107
