most recent, ppl were going on about him improving but this still doesnt exactly sound promising:

It's too early to give a prognosis for Montreal boxer Adonis Stevenson, who remains in a Quebec City hospital after suffering a "severe traumatic brain injury" in a knockout loss on Saturday, a doctor said Wednesday.

"His condition requires mechanical respiratory assistance, deep sedation and specialized neurological monitoring. It is too early to comment on Mr. Stevenson's long-term prognosis," said Dr. Alexis Turgeon, an intensive-care specialist at the Hôpital de l'Enfant-Jésus.

impossible......if you are on a ventilator (respirator) then you are still in a coma
otherwise you would not tolerate the endo-tracheal tube.

if he has a tracheostomy......the sedation can be a bit lighter than what equates to an anaesthetic

Watched the fight earlier, wasn't as gruelling as I expected it to be, with it being stopped being so late in the fight I expected there be some punishment dished out but apart from the knockdowns that weren't scored it was a bit of a boxing match, Gvozdyk trying to jab and work the right hand and Stevenson doing a lot of feinting trying to find that big left hand

The ref made a pudendum of 2 knockdowns, Gvozdyk had Stevenson down early with a right but the ref somehow ruled it a slip, in the 10th Stevenson sent Gvozdyk crashing into the ropes from a big left but again the ref cocked it up by ignoring it

When Gvozdyk did hurt Stevenson in that 11th he did catch him with some clean shots, the last right hand to put Stevenson down was a sickener but you'd never have guessed Stevenson would end up in a bad way

sadly it can only take one punch. it need not be accumulative.

Not really fair to wish him, as an innocent party, to take the responsibility and the psychological impact for the rest of his life.
He should be proud of his night's work.

Yeah, he's through for sure. No recent updates on his condition. Last heard, still in medicine induced coma after brain surgery. Frightful even if he's not exactly beloved.

Where did that come from? There’s no connection between boxing and beating women. Of course we all hope he won’t do that.

Have a look at why he was jailed and you'll see where it came from.

Yes mate, I know what he did and it was really bad. My point was more that his ineligiblility for a licence to box doesn’t prevent that sort of behavior. I think the original poster knows that too but still brought up that episode (for whatever reason). And I don’t mean to trivialize his crime but it’s already been pretty well documented in this thread.

We shouldn't judge him, the real issue is that this sort of injury is something none of us want to see regardless.

That Badou Jack fight took a lot out of him I thought. He really had to battle through that one.

My point is that this situation far bigger than whether he will get a licence to fight again. Who cares?? Why does anybody care about this scumbag? He was a stain on boxing and I'm glad he's been removed from the sport.
