Nathan Gorman vs. Razvan Cojanu - 22 December 2018

Razvan Cojanu will step in to take on Ricky Hatton-trained heavyweight prospect Nathan Gorman on December 22nd after the late pull-out of Gorman’s original opponent, Alex Leapai.

Romanian-born Cojanu was scheduled to fight Britain’s other big heavyweight prospect, Daniel Dubois this Saturday at the Brentwood Centre but due to illness, Dubois was forced to withdraw from the bout.

But fortunately for both fighters, Cojanu will now make his way up north next week and challenge Gorman at the Manchester Arena on December 22nd, live on BT Sport Box Office.

“I’m disappointed Leapai didn’t get on the plane. He’s given it some bad mouth which isn’t really my style, but in my world, if you are going to do that then you come and have a fight. Words are cheap, maybe he regretted his words knowing what was coming?” said Gorman.

He continued: “I thought it was going to be a big let down trying to get an opponent this late but at the very last minute, Daniel’s bad luck has proved well for me; that’s ironic really.

“I get to fight a guy who fought for a world title just last year and took Joseph Parker the distance, so he is a better opponent in many respects.

“He is here, he is in the country and I’m looking forward to putting on a show again at the Manchester Arena.”

This is actually slightly better than his scheduled fight, and slightly better than Cojanu/Doobie.

I reserve my opinion of Gorman for now. I have not seen anything yet from him that leads me to believe he has potential outside of the UK.
Same with Dubois actually.
Can't wait for this eliminator leading to the British title- if it happens. Then we will see who is who.

Could Gorman not make cruiser? I'm no expert by any means, but he doesn't look very big and looks like he's carrying a bit of a spare tyre.

I'm not sure he'll prove good enough to reach the top of either division (although I think he's a bit better than Dubois, right now). If that's the case, it makes sense to stay at heavy. At least there, he may earn some decent money, if the right fights get made down the line.

I like Gorman, whose more of a well-rounded fighter than Dubois. With the hand speed and body punching, I can see Gorman being somebody once Wilder, T. Fury and AJ are winding down or gone--- give or take 4-5 years that's when we'll see H. Fury, Gorman, Dubois, etc come into their own because the top men today will be older, slower, etc.

This is certainly a big step up for Gorman, so, I expect a full distance fight. But then again, I think Gorman's a heavier handed opponent than Parker so this Cojanu will have his hands full.

Fair assessment Henry :salut:
Let's hope Cojanu is motivated enough to put Nathan through his paces and he can glean some experience from fighting a tall opponent like Cojanu

Easy win for Gorman as Razvan Cojanu is a lazy; slow nothing of a fighter. Just watched him beat Ed Fountain in a 'drawbreaker.' Sheesh...not a lot of effort.

Gorman sucks and his DEC win over Cojanu supports that. He'll be protected until he can make some dough in a meaningful fight.
