He thinks he can beat everyone in the division. Why do retired old guys always think they have one more fight? He's taking advantage of the April 13 'reservation' at Wembley. AJ needs an opponent, and I guess he jumped on the opportunity.

He mustn't do it. It will be just another case of old man failing to come back and taking unecessary damage.

The only advantage he has over past comebacks is he is never out of shape, but...yikes...AJ can really hurt him at this point. Wlad sees $$$$'s.

The bloke is rich for several lifetimes, he is. It's a chance for past glory and a HUGE payday is my guess. As Rocky's manager Mickey said, "He'll hurt you poimently."

If this takes place in April. Wlad will be 43 years old and will not have won a fight in 4 years.
This is a joke right? No way can he expect to win

I wish it were, but it's serious. He's out of his mind, IMHO.

If Klitschko insists on coming back there are guys I'm sure he COULD beat. AJ ain't one of 'em. The money is obviously greater with Joshua, but so is the danger.

This is probably Wlad thinking "If Fury can go up to 400 pounds, and comeback then surely I can because I've never gotten anywhere near that out of shape"...but the age thing is a bigger factor than the weight gain. When you're young you can reverse the toll of weight gain, you can't reverse the toll of aging.

I mean he could beat SOME guys, but it ain't gonna be none of the top dogs at this point. I wouldn't be shocked to see him be able to beat a Dereck Chisora or somebody like that, but considering his achievements what would be the point of that?

He's aiming for AJ in April. He has only one fighter in mind. No tune-up fights, it appears.

I have no idea who he could beat at this point.
At his age and being away from active competition for what will be 2 years. It's a gamble to get on him against any top 10 contender.
I know people are going to say he can still beat the Chisora or Takams of the division.
But we really dont know.

He has more total fights than the average competitor of the modern era too so he has more miles on his body so to speak.

And another thing. What does this fight do to Joshua's legacy? Will people point out that this is the definition of cherry picking.
AJ gains nothing but money off of this.
I'd rather he fight Whyte, Pulev or Miller at this point. And none of those excite me either

Good point. His body may be even older than a 43 year old fighters. He's taken some beatings over the years

Isn't money what Hearn and AJ seem to be focused on all the time?

Yep! And I understand it is PRIZE fighting and not PRIDE fighting
But I'd be embarrassed taking on an old inactive shell of a fighter.

I used to be all about "Legacy" and"Legacy defining fights", and would judge guys harshly for not pursuing this sorta thing more adamantly, but I've read plenty of books about retired boxers who's legacies are just fine, but they're broke as sh*t, and all but forgotten by the average man in spite of it.

Really at the end of it all, the money you made, and the money you still got is the most important thing.

Well yeah. All the money in the world don't mean sh*t if you can't count it.
